The attack on Syria

First video game footage, now footage from a Film
I suspect that chemicals were used, though it will be impossible to determine who carried out the attack.

'Russian TV used my images to back 'fake chemical attack'
Filmmaker is adamant outlets doctored images from the set of his movie to claim suspected poison gas attack was staged.

Beirut: A Syrian filmmaker says Russian state media outlets have used images from the set of his movie to claim that video footage from an April 7 suspected poison gas attack in Syria was staged
The April 22 reports by Russia's Rossiya-1 and Channel One appear to back up the Russian and Syrian government's narrative that there was no chemical weapons attack in Douma, and that videos purporting to show victims of the attack were faked.
But Husari says that in one segment, the reports use behind-the-scenes images from the set of his short film called Chemical, as it was being filmed in the eastern Ghouta region in 2016.

So, the rebels were making movies about chemical attack, which is interesting enough by itself. For purely educational purposes, I guess.
But unfortunately for them, the backstage leaked.

So the claims of a hoax are in-and-of themselves... a hoax?

You can't make this stuff up... well... apparently... you can :ack:

So the claims of a hoax are in-and-of themselves... a hoax?
Claims of a hoax were already confirmed by Western journalists visiting the city:
War stories, however, have a habit of growing darker. For the same 58-year old senior Syrian doctor then adds something profoundly uncomfortable: the patients, he says, were overcome not by gas but by oxygen starvation in the rubbish-filled tunnels and basements in which they lived, on a night of wind and heavy shelling that stirred up a dust storm.

Now rebels only try to claim that the Russians faked their fake.

[old man story]
Back when I was younger you could buy almost any chemicals you wanted through mail-order and all you needed was an adult's signature, (forged or not) Potassium nitrate, Potassium clorate, magnesium dust, pure zinc dust, and all sorts of other materials (by the pound) for making all sorts of fun things. There were many explosions in those days. Now the FBI would show us at your door step
[/old man story]

you can buy almost any research chemical imagineable over the internet with a minimum effort google search, I doubt the feds care too much since most aren't even illegal or problematic anyway

I'm still waiting for the UK to present their witnesses on these "chemical weapons" cases to testify. We know for a fact that they are holding a couple...

Kind of interesting how that article talks only about the White Helmets' aid work without mentioning that they're also an opposition-aligned activist organization that provides video footage with a strong pro-rebel spin to eager Western news outlets. Then it seamlessly transitions to how funding for humanitarian aid like "the clearing of explosive devices, bringing back electricity, rebuilding schools, and getting water running" is also in jeopardy. True, and that is a problem, but the linkage of funding for pro-opposition groups with funding for impartial humanitarian work is never questioned or brought up.

Well, it's a job-hazard when you make it your business of pulling people out of the rubble that was once buildings caused by the Syrian government + Russia, while both deny they did it, and target you as a terrorist group for doing it.

It's White Helmets vs Asshats in this instance.

people are clearly forgetting or something that those guys were like also given media savviness training in Turkey . This we heard of only when they were nominated for some Oscar or something and they might win or something .

also in the news . Another irresuction enclave surrenders and the aircraft accident this time is a Su-30 in what might really be an accident . Birds are dangerous to jets ...

Groups like the "White Helmets" based on motivated volunteers, needing money, have often a wide variety of causes and motivations of the individual volunteers bound together by their actions, and have often many factions with muddy homogenity at the top level.
In that top level equation go money, media, network, backing in-group and out-group.
Can be very opaque and also volatile with internal shifts and coups in alliances, true leadership (internal prime agenda).
Many hidden agendas and much infiltrations possible.

So..... White Helmet group..... which White Helmet Group..... standing for what ?

Syria was wrong , Syria has conducted an outright terror bombing campaign but at the end of the day either we Turks fight to our own death and Western death ratio to be is an unknown , or this stupid pointless and wrong Jihadi "Crusade" in Syria ends . So , sorry but ı would have no incentive to be a fan of White Helmets and what not . It's really annoying after all , you know , reading the news after each chemical attack and Russians tiredlessly pointing out the White Helmets do not wear gloves and the like .

Never discard terrorism so easily. Maybe ISIS has been indoctrinating birds for his new terror campaign.

The article mentions cities like Raqqa lie in ruins and almost impossible to live in. And nobody including their western liberators or these opposition activist groups are eager to go and do humanitarian work there.

And White Helmets are not a terrorist organization according to Russia, as far as I know. They more like a motion picture company, but anyway it's not the reason to target them.

Two enclaves agreed to surrender, one in Damascus another in northern Homs. Conditions seem to be the same, rebels who want to continue resistance allowed to leave, Russian military police takes control of the place, to prevent atrocities. The scheme is surprisingly effective lately.

May be their Western patrons begin to suspect something and decided to cut financing.

There is no which white helmet group. They are a group. Some may be useful idiots, but the top level is staffed by british spies (allegedly retired), and their mission is to manufacture consent among the western populations for the destruction of Syria (pesky democracy and all making it hard to start outright imperial wars). They, and several other "ngo" operating there, are a propaganda organization financed and directed by intelligence agencies.

The CIA could barely find arm and train total of some 60 fighters for their Syrian Division, most of the weapons and funding comes from Saudi and other middle eastern countries
The US or EU dont much interest in yet another middle east adventure. Obama only gave lip service about red line and then was stopped by the US congress.

This is the Middle east after all, wars, ethnic cleansing, religious violence, terrorism and brutal dictatorships are just the norm.

the TOW teams must like number at least 60 already , with like 500 or 1000 killed Syrian tanks and various armoured vehicles ?
