The Cinemod

I've got a problem with my D/L, it takes me a super long time to D/L, and then doesn't work. Help?

I don't know what the problem is; I assume you were just unlucky. It sounds like others have downloaded it successfully. What I can say is that I also have had troubles downloading mods before. Usually it took a few tries before I got it completely; perhaps it's something to do with the host server. (I usually set it to download before going to bed or going to work, so I don't have to physically wait.) All I can say is, if you're motivated to try again, then go for it and good luck.

"Curse you Buzz Lightyear," "you think you're all that, but you're Not!" (Toy Story/Kim Possible)

I had a very similar idea awhile back and had it on a back-shelf. Thank you for being the one to actually make it. I'll play it tomorrow.

By the way, the B&W Robin Hood made me think of something. If someone were to make a Batman unit, a 1960's version could have the BANG! BOW! BAMM! as part of the attack.

That's a neat idea. It would bring an interesting style to King Arthur's Super Civ scenario as well.

I hope it's as good as the one you had envisioned. On this matter, when you have a good idea, you have to do something about it. Think of all the riches, glory and fame I'm getting that should have been yours...

Thinking about your Batman idea, I figured the different "BANG! BOW! BAMM!" effects could go on the different directions (NW, SW, E, etc.) I've been checking out the tutorials on this site and hope to someday make some of the great ideas others have posted in this thread more than just ideas...to make them realities.

you can keep all the fame , i don't even know half of the movies you've got, but I may tweak yours and make a few additions when i get the time and finish playing it :goodjob:

yes, yes it would

Sure. Just in case, everything was said tongue-in-cheek :D. There is no fame, money or glory. Not even women...
All one gets is a sense of self-satisfaction that he/she completed a goal that was set. That's really what I meant you should work for.

As far as unknown movies, I knew that would be the case for many people. (Much depends on age and culture/nationality.) On one hand, I hoped to introduce a few movies that I liked. On the other hand, I just tried to find movies that I knew that would allow the use of the units available here on cfc.

But, if you have some other suggestions - maybe a movie you think is even more suitable, feel free to mention them. Make all the tweaks and additions you like. If you can make it more enjoyable, then by all means do so. I am glad if you can have fun with it and I do appreciate your interest and comments.

The original post has been updated to include biqs Cinemod 1.1 and Cinemod 1.1R.
The update contains minor changes to the original 1.0 biq and also a random map biq. The Text folder has a few corrections and additions (for the random map.)

Blue Monkey and Jord Kells, thanks for the suggestions/comments in the previous two posts.

If you've had fun playing then you're sure to enjoy the 2.0 version I've been playing this weekend. The silent movie and black and white movie eras are finished (though I'm still fixing a few boards that I don't like as I see them in the game.)

One problem I always had (with the Cinemod map) was the other civs were too equally balanced and never seriously took over other civs' land. I think that part of the game-play has been improved.

And the Oscar goes to...

Just want you to know I enjoy playing this mod & will get back to it. Just now I'm committed to playtesting the steampunk scenario.

Thanks for the note. I can certainly understand where you're at.
In the meantime, the polishing continues...

2.0 was re-uploaded today with the complete set of Silent boards. Two people downloaded the previous 2.0 in the last few days. If you are one of those two, I recommend you download the partial file and follow the instructions to update to the complete set. (Sorry for a little inconvenience, but you'll be glad you did.)

I hope no one has gotten too far on the random map. I was mid-third era conquering the world before finally realizing there were no roads - anywhere in the world.

The terraform box is now checked and the new biq has been uploaded to the original post. Sorry:blush:

Well, I was inspired and motivated by some of the great work of other creators lately and decided it was time to put some time into leaderheads. Here is a small preview of where the Cinemod is headed. Note of credit here: I took a page out of Gojira54's playbook in adding red frames to make them angry.

***EDIT***

All content moved to post #63.

That's some cool & unusual work there!

Thanks for your continued support.

(Not sure if the work is strange or if it was my presentation style, you can be the judge:), but the previous post has been edited to make things more clear.)
