The idea of "Trigger words" actually had its origin in the psychiatric fields, describing words that trigger the symptoms of a mental illness. These words do not need to be "emotionally charged", they can just be perfectly reasonable words even used in context, but because the patient has a very strong connection to that word or what it stands for in their mind it causes a normally unreasonably strong reaction.
It's rather fitting that the term is now overused by mostly mentally unstable individuals to make sure they don't accidentally read something that might challenge their world view. (General observation, not talking about this thread)
Although the way you/Hygro used it actually sounds more like you/he is talking about "buzzwords"? Maybe these words are used differently in different circles.
Most asians in Britain probably are muslims, so you should be able to understand why the terms might get conflated a little (as well as both actually being accurate most of the time).
Come on MilitantSecular. I'm still waiting for an answer as to why you posted a bunch of random quotes from me and what, if anything, you meant by them. So let's take a look at them:
Is there some sort of link to a story about what the OP is actually about, or do I really have to watch 10 minutes of shaky camera phone footage with poor audio to try and work out what the hell the actual issue was?
So this is from last November, in the thread about the Yale University Halloween thing. It was in response to an OP that was a big string of youtube videos with very little information as to what was actually in them (rather familiar posting style). Can you explain what's wrong with wanting a little summary? I wasn't expressing an opinion either way about the events, just stating that I didn't want to watch a load of videos without any real idea of what I was even going to see.

Nice recent post this one. My political compass score from 2012. And so....? On the face of it I'd guess that your problem here is that my score is over to the left and that you hate people from the left. But the title of this very thread that you started implies that you see "the left" as containing both good and bad elements, so it can't really be that. It's hard to see what other point you might be making though.
I'd definitely be behind #AllLivesMatter, or even #JesusChristStopKillingUs
From last August. The context was that I was talking about how absurdly high the "death by police rate" is in America, across the board, when compared to other places. Again... the problem? The relevance to this thread?
And then of course there's the quote from Useless in the 2011 thread about the London riots, in which he used the word "Asian" which, for some reason, you're attributing to me. It's not even clear from his post who he's even referring to with "Asian", and it might even be the "correct" group from your point of view. You're reading a whole world of bias into that one comment. But, as I said, it has literally nothing to do with me as I never said it.
I don't know, I'm maybe wrong here but initally I smelled something of leftism or SJW from your posts
On reflection I might be incorrect
You are nothing like this forums other far far FAR left lunatics for example Princeps for example a leftist extremist from Finland who may voice his support of suicide bombers attacks against a Russian kindergarten for example
Nothing surprising at all. Paranoid beliefs that everyone who doesn't immediately agree with you is actually an SJW, whatever you want that to mean, is a common character trait among certain types.
Some people enjoy throwing that word around like the people on the other side enjoy throwing words like "misogynist", "racist", "sexist", "bigot", "xenophobic" at you.
"We express Greece's solidarity with the Belgian people. Fear, religious hatred and racism must not overcome Europe," Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras tweeted.
"Brussels, our Union's capital, is under attack. We mourn the dead and pledge to conquer terror," the Greek Foreign Ministry also posted on Twitter.
Reports of shooting before blasts and that a Starbucks cafe was also targeted and an American airlines desk targeted. The U.S. Embassy in Brussels is recommending that Americans in Belgium stay where they are and avoid public transportation.
The embassy noted Tuesday that with the threat rating in Brussels at its highest alert, attacks can take place with little or no notice. It urged U.S. citizens to monitor media reports, follow instructions from the authorities, and "take the appropriate steps to bolster your personal security." The Belgian capital was virtually shut down following the terror attacks, which appeared to be clearly coordinated in the style of the November 13 attack in Paris that killed 130 people.
Tuesday’s attacks, including a suspected suicide attack, killed at least 13 people while 35 others were injured, according to reports.
The departures hall of Zaventem Airport was rocked by twin explosions just after 0800 local time.
Reports said the explosions took place near the American Airlines desk. Witnesses recounted shots being fired and someone shouting in Arabic before the suicide blasts, according to Belgian news agency Belga.
Smoke was seen rising from the departures terminal as the explosions shattered the glass façade of the building. Television channels and social media showed video footage of people fleeing the building in terror. The second blast was reported to be near a Starbucks outlet in the same area.
The floor of the building was littered with shattered glass and the building blackened.
A third explosion was reported at the Maelbeek metro station, in the center of the city near the EU institutions. Smoke was seen rising from the station and injured people were lined up on the pavements.
The Belgian capital was in a state of virtual lockdown. All flights were canceled for the day.
All subway, tram and bus travel was shut down. Eurostar canceled its trains connecting Brussels with Paris and London. Cellphone lines were jammed as panicked travelers and Belgians tried to make calls.
Some people enjoy throwing that word around like the people on the other side enjoy throwing words like "misogynist", "racist", "sexist", "bigot", "xenophobic" at you.
Whats your point? You've said nothing in that post. You have asked very open ended questions and then copy and pasted some links to other peoples content.
What should I say about you guys, it seems you guys deny the existence of the 'Regressive Left'
maybe the leftists in France, in Germany, in Sweden, in Canada and Germany don't see the problems of multi-culturalism
but I ask real Liberals here
Do you guys consider Milo Yiannopoulos recently on the Rubinreport an extremist?
This charge has been leveled at progressivism for over 100 years, since the 19th century. Same old Friedmanesque secular conservatism we saw half a century ago.
