Apparently we just delayed Judgement day. Really they should have stopped after T2.

The God *I* worship is so wise, good, and powerful that He never would have created evil in the first place!

You should worship a more capable god.

God didn't create evil, it came as a result of Satan's disobedience and he tempted Eve to disobey God.

Perhaps the fruit was enticing to Eve, but Eve was enticing to Adam. I don't think that Adam cared more about the fruit, than he did Eve. I don't think God was wrong in giving Eve to Adam, even if he knew what would happen. We could even say God was wrong in placing Adam in the garden. There was a series of checks and balances, but we all know that those do not always work perfectly.

I see no reason to say that Adam was enticed, or even gave the forbidden fruit a second thought.

In all honesty, I actually believe in the imperfection of Man. I agree that 'we are all sinners, there is no one good'. I just don't believe in God.

I always took this "knowledge" to be linked to procreation, the fig leaves to cover their nakedness and shame.

That raises a question about the 6th day people, they were told to multiply but Adam was taken to the garden and Eve was made because God decided to create a companion for him.

Who was God talking to on the 6th day? Eve wasn't made yet, it says God took the man and brought him east to the garden to work there. So who was multiplying all this time Adam and Eve lived in the garden without multiplying?

I see no reason to say that Adam was enticed, or even gave the forbidden fruit a second thought.

Doesn't Genesis say he was enticed, he saw it was good and did eat.

The crazy thing is that it might not be a bad thing to believe in "judgement " as you say.

As a kind of internal policeman, and in the absence of some more sophisticated mechanism - which could easily go astray of course - believing in a judgement day could act as some kind of conscience. Do you think? No?

And for those who are powerless victims of extreme injustice, it might be comforting to believe that their tormentors will one day get their comeuppance - in the absence of anything better.

That's the difference between religious and moral people: Moral people act out of their own conscience while religious people only act in accordance with their doctrine.
Of course I don't mean to imply that religious people can't also be moral. Any christian who doesn't hack his wive's hand of for touching other people's junk (Deuteronomy 25:11-12) shows signs of this.

Nah, atheists may be good or bad, but it takes religion to make otherwise good people do evil deeds.
