The drawing thread

Oh the memories of StarFox !!

Damn, Chukchi, you haven't lost a beat!

Based on how Fox is standing ahead of Sonic, it's obvious he isn't, but he looks almost like he's putting the gun to Sonic's head. XD
Shush you, don't spoil my mental image! :p

Thorvald would be much happy if he saw a gun to Enerjak's head ;).

A fancharacter of mine for the StC universe.

Spoiler Profile :
Name: Orobouros "Oro" Crowley
Age: Chronologically ~2 years, Physically 18. Can alter his exact age at whim.
Fur Color: Exactly gold (RGB: 255, 215, 0) with orange-ish accents.
Eye Color: Red
Height: 3'3''

History: Oro came into existence when Super Sonic lost his memory, a good side of the creature finally having been awoken. For a year he would live with Ebony, who would always believe in him despite his occassional regression into his darker side. He was able to stave off this dark personality by avoiding the use of his powers, or contact with Chaos energy. Like Sonic before him, "the Demon" would come out in such situations, albeit any anger or fear on his part wouldn't trigger it.

Tragically, Oro could not escape what he was - a Chaos energy-based being. As his energy ran out, he began to age rapidly and begin to practically decompose. With no other choice besides death, he and Ebony went to the closest source of Chaos Energy they could find. It would just so happen this was Perfect Chaos, a creature of unfathomable power.

Thrusting himself into it, Super Sonic was able to absorb all of Chaos' power and neutralise that threat, but the evil side regained the upper hand, more powerful than ever due to the power of all seven emeralds now flowing through him. Fortunately, Ebony was able to put a stop to this by sealing Super Sonic within Sonic once more.

Ebony remained confident that the good Super had been sealed along with the bad inside the hero, but she couldn't be more wrong - something went amiss with the spell, the good Super sealing itself inside Ebony instead of Sonic. He was left confused, wandering the confines of Ebony's soul, trying desperately to reach her. All this did, however, was amplify her feelings to find him again, causing her to try such insanity as forcing Sonic to turn Super to try and goad out a good personality that was no longer present.

As it would happen, however, the "essence" Ebony had used to bring out Super Sonic had enough positive energy in it for the good Super to escape as well, letting him create a makeshift body... albeit far from where the event had transpired. He had only a few weeks' life force, and made the most of it - he discovered he could leech positive energy and not negative with enough focus. This was joyous - he'd be able to survive, if a bit difficultly, without a high chance of murdering his friends.

He would slowly build up his power, absorbing what energy he could find - unfortunately, due to Kintobor's ill-fated experiment, it was rather difficult to find much to subsist off of.

However, his strange state of existence had caused him to gain some unusual powers - he could easily locate any reservoir of energy, though he also knew the locations of Sonic and Ebony at all times, due to his connection to both's hearts. And, while he himself could feel no actual evil, he had the memories of Ebony, Sonic, and Super Sonic, from the times he had spent trapped in each. From these, he was able to create a facade of villainy, which was vital for the next step in his plan - rescuing Ebony.

Eventually faking the kidnapping of Sonic's friends, he was able to blackmail the hero into helping him rescue her, albeit his identity was swiftly betrayed. Unfortunately, before anything else could transpire, Super Sonic teleported himself and Ebony away, not wanting to be confronted with how "evil" he was.

Going underground with his best friend, Super Sonic would change his name, discarding the "Super" of the Demon and the "Sonic" of the one who was so convinced of his being beyond salvation. He donned the name "Orobouros," due to how he saw life as a constant cycle, but shortened it to "Oro" due to how sinister it sounded. He also adopted Ebony's surname of Crowley, the two increasingly family as much as friends.

He went so far as to shave his quills to give himself a different appearance, and even crafted himself a different outfit - the gloves of which are especially good at protecting one from negative energy.

Abilities: Besides his supernatural ability to sense the locations of Chaos energy, Sonic, and Ebony, he also has an incredible understanding of the Chaos Force. However, he refuses to share this information with anyone, believing nothing good can come of such power. He also has picked up magic as a hobby rather than anything else, and is, funnily enough, especially proficient in fire. As a chaos energy-based being, he can do practically anything he desires so long as his reserves don't run low; given his selective use of positive energy only, he can only go for a few minutes at full capability before becoming weak and easily dominated.

Personality: Whereas evil Super Sonic is all of Sonic's repressed evil side, Oro is the repressed good emotions. As such he is very polite, patient, and above all, overly generous and sympathetic. He is extremely playful as well, and is also very sensitive. For these reasons is seen as being more of a child than anything else. Particular favorite pranks are shooting his quills out, making his eyes swirly, and pretending to be the evil Super Sonic - he is usually punched in the face accordingly. "..even when you're invincible stuff still hurts! ;__;"

Below this childish, almost-immature demeanor, however, lies a mind consumed by fear and sorrow. He is always afraid that, even though he is his own being, he could still somehow be corrupted and seriously harm or kill those he cares about. For this reason, he refuses to fight, it usually taking desperate circumstances to break this staunch pacifism. Adding further justification is that due to his super being status, he doesn't know his own strength and a gentle push could easily send someone flying.

Desires: Oro has some desires that, to an onlooker, may seem bizarre. His first and foremost desire is to become flesh and blood, mortal, a regular Mobian. With that, he could finally be free of any concern Chaos Energy may have on him, and be fully capable of fighting to protect those he cares for. His second desire seems rather humble but is incredibly daunting - gaining Sonic's acceptance. With Sonic more or less being his only family besides Ebony, being told he is a good person and not a Devil waiting to happen would make his day.

I dislike perspective. I really do. :S

Otherwise, I like how this came out. Still need to add the finer details(SWATbot parts, grass, shading, etc.), but we're nearing the end of this one. Sonic's darker emotions will show in this and the next page.

God, I love splash-posters like that.

The doctor in the top-hat particularly appeals to me. For some reason he's giving me a Dickensian vibe.

Looking nice, TK! Always good to see a variety in clothing - I know that's a weakness of mine.

I concur with Thorvald on how nice a splash poster is. If only they weren't so time-consuming to draw!

Whomp, SuperBeaverInc., Gogf, Thorvald, TK, ..I think that's Brian with a martini so I'll assume Camikaze, since I recall him using a fair share of Brian avatars.

Could the Earth be Earthling?

Seems my lexicon of CFCers isn't as detailed as I thought. :S

This isn't meant to be a finished work; it was really just a quick sketch and I played around with colors. Was trying to get the nack for the coloring tools in SAI - markers, paintbrushes, etc. etc.

Just the epic battle I've always wanted - Dark Enerjak vs. StCO Iblis :D

Kali-ma! KALI-MA!!

How many CFCers can you identify?

Bluemofia, Gogf, Mirc, SuperBeaverInc., Whomp, Chieftess, Abaddon, taillesskangaru, Bozo Erectus, Perfection, ComradeDavo(?), Stylesrj(?), Stylesjl, Winner, MobBoss(?), IglooDude(?), Lefty Saevola, Rik Meleet, Thunderfall, and I can't figure out the rest.

Did this quick just to try and hammer the concepts.

For Iblis' malicious form(left), I went for the idea here: http://kie-san013.deviantart.com/art/STC-Super-WIP-174301588

For his berserk, fully destructive state, I wanted a more classic design(hence his sudden girth), but also wanted to go with the flame motif here: http://sub0rd1n4nc3-w0rk5.deviantart.com/art/Harmony-Disruptor-2011-258812900 Obviously I didn't draw out the flames fully, but the idea is there.

==

Name: Iblis (formerly Super Sonic)
Age: Chronologically ~3 years, Physically 18. Can alter his exact age at whim.
Fur Color: Golden orange
Eye Color: Red
Height: 3'3''

History: Iblis precedes his twin Oro in his exact time of birth; while the beastly Super being has existed for quite some time, the creature that would come to be known as Iblis did not become self-aware until sometime between Sonic's fall into the emerald pit and Super Sonic's extraction via Star Post.

This new creature was far more deadly, showing patience and sadism when it came to its goals, holding off on killing to derive further pleasure from a person's misery. That said, the beast was hot blooded and beholden to its destructive nature.

Not so with Iblis. Removed from Sonic for a second time, he enjoyed Oro's idea of discarding of his old identity, donning the name of an ancient, powerful demon. Crafting himself a new pair of garments to dispose of the last of his "Super Sonic" title, he displayed an incredible intellect and patience. This made him even scarier, murder becoming secondary to his goals.

Part of this was out of necessity - while he states that the reason he's so strong is because he embraces "the Demon" while the other two run away form it, he is still ultimately at the mercy of such power when in the heat of the moment. Ergo, he avoids tapping most of his immense reserves, instead preferring to recruit others to do his dirty work for him.

The reason he wants to avoid becoming borderline-mindless is that he knows that without Oro, he is not complete and his power actually does have its limits, despite how generous they may be. As such, he has remained reserved, knowing that Sonic and his friends always find some way to contain his power. He will tap the Demon eventually... once he has captured and absorbed Orobouros into himself, that is.

Until then, he gets to experiment with all the more subtle ways of causing misery and pain around the globe, and as an immortal, he has all the time in the world!

IOTMP-RedLotus.png

The Red Lotus, leader of the Scarlet Lancers in Tani's latest IOT, "Multipolarity".

The Lancers are one of two special terrorist factions; I formed it a little ways into the game after Sonereal abruptly left IOT, adopting what remained of his GLA. Originally it was more or less a direct carry-over from what I'd wanted to do in west india man's short-lived "back-to-basics" game, but I quickly reconstituted it into a band of freedom-fighters fundamentally opposed to christos200's communist dictatorship of Xinjiang, which had already started threatening war with everyone barely two turns in.

Xinjiang and the Lancers are practically polar opposites: the former is outright totalitarianism, the latter, pro-democracy revolutionaries; the former responds to pretty much everything with brute force; the latter employs deceit and subterfuge; the former is obsessed with attaining power, the latter aims to distribute it; the former is headed by a man, the latter, by a woman.

Originally this character was male, but shortly before I started the sketch I was inspired to swap sexes, partly for this aforementioned ideological contrast, and partly because, having not yet named the leader, christos rather uncreatively decided on the codename "Thorvald of Lym". Turning 'he' to 'she' made the President's prior statements deliciously ironic. These games are also dominated by masculinist politics, and I thought it would be fun, and novel, to play a woman in power.

It's not mentioned in the game, but for those interested, her private name is Akane, in keeping with the red motif (her coat's probably some shade of crimson, too). I could have stuck to an all-Chinese theme given the Lancers' focus on Xinjiang (and in fact quite fittingly, in China nine-tailed foxes can be seen as an omen of revolution against a bad emperor), but I'm more familiar with the Japanese mythology. Besides, In My Little 'Polarity, Freedom is Universal!

You're a ponytarian, Thorvald? If only you werent' such a great artist…

Fear not! I saw one episode in full; it's a cute show, but I do not understand the fanaticism.
