The drawing thread

At first I thought you were right and he goof'd, but then I realized he's paired the two halves:

It's not great but here's my attempt at animating a sprite i created (character to!)

Here's a higher quality link sorry.

I like the smoke useless!

The demi-rabbit reminds me of an Egyptian god. Was that intentional in the design?

Looks like some sort of demon, bombshoo.

Page 2-12. As promised, shows Sir Hedgesalot is a wee bit unbalanced.

As for who's on the other side of the transmission, I've been doing multiple designs and settled on the leftmost:

His color scheme was chosen at random. I found it ironic that blue and green were chosen. He's supposed to be a thylacine, but due to the jumpsuit, marsupial features such as his pouch are obscured.

The standard issue Foreman outfit is a homage to the Classic Robotnik outfit. Governors wear outfits akin to SatAM Robotnik's, and Sub-Bosses wear the standard jacket associated with Eggman.

Soo.....

...When is Sonic going to get his gloves back?

Down the road when he discovers that he will soon suffer a heart attack if he does not find some way to channel out his excess energy. :p

Being a superhero sucks when your weaknesses are revealed. :D

I thought it was because he ate so many damned chilli dogs! :p

Nah, that just gives him some majorly bad gas. This explains his system of propulsion.

Ahem!

The Raiju emblem. Designed for IOT IX.

I thought the original from the Archie comics:

Blog_Raiju_Symbol_2.jpg

Looked too cartoony, so made adjustments.

Lightning Lynx's claw grips a sphere, representing the world. The lightning bolt is, well, pretty symbolic. Raiju means thunder beast, after all, and represents the aggressive and militaristic nature of the Clan. As for the red rain? Well, it's pretty obvious what that's symbolic of!

Gloveless Sonic ain't Sonic.

Well you're talking to a guy who draws Sonic and his other characters like they were in some bodybuilding contest. :p

Guess that makes us truer fans than him.

You asked for it!

Done in the twenty minutes before class. Whenever people say SS Sonic is muscular I laugh. :S

I prefer mines female and with boobs :p.

I'd say muscular in comparison to his current official design, but apart from that, he isn't that muscular when you draw him. Perhaps a bit too trianglish for some people, but it can be deemed somewhat fitting.

Ah yes - his wider shoulders and thicker legs.

Thicker legs, however, do make sense - if he had any musculature, that is where it'd be. A neat thing of cartooning, for me anyway, is that you can show muscle without ACTUALLY showing it, simply by making the normally noodly limbs of a cartoon character thicker.

As for the shoulders - I try to avoid it, I try, but his more round design just looks odd to me. I'm aware that Modern Sonic's design has an oval-shaped torso, but I can never seem to get it right! :( Indeed, I was ashamed when I did concept studies the other day, and discovered I can do Classic Sonic(who has a circular torso) much more accurately.

I tried to use my tablet again. After trying for an hour I gave up. I'm just too rubbish to use one, and even after a few minutes holding the pen hurts too much.

My greatest complaint with my tablet is I can't seem to get it to only draw when it's against the tablet. It still acts as if it is about half an inch away from the surface, ergo, I have to be extremely careful with it or it will keep drawing.

As such, I got frustrated with it and just went back to drawing by mouse. :(

Is it a wacom? I find that sometimes the nib gets a little stuck. Give it a pull and a jiggle and it should be working fine again. I can confirm this works on the Graphire 4, but I don't know about the newer tablets.
