The End of Han: The Three Kingdoms

@orders: Oh, whoops. In that case, I order the construction of basic infrastructure in the city.

I send any innocents who try to get help at my Manor to the Temple, warn them of Christos influence there, and apologize for the army marching towards this former sanctuary.

I will spend all my gold to stock my Granary for seige, fortify the walls, secure medicines and weapons, the water supply, raise troops for Shao Yu's corps and provide for the common welfare. I myself will join the Medical Crew to help the wounded and continue to farm the lands within the walls if possible.

The gates of the Li Hao Shi manor will be closed.

You shall not pass.

We shall pass. Except arresting and executing Li Hao Shi, i sent the army to burn to the ground his manor and let them take all the gold they want from this manor.

Volume III:

I last wrote of the great chaos, and how one Christos Lee came out on top. Let me first speak of this ruler and his reign. Below is a portrait of King Lee after enjoying the fruits of kingships for several days:
Spoiler :

Now this King Lee was the most tyrannical of kings. After taking the throne, he ordered a nationwide purge of any who disagreed with him. Gangs of his followers dragged rich men off the street, killing them, sometimes after torturing them almost to death, and robbing them. Other bands of men pillaged rich manors. One of these, 200 strong, was dispatched on personal orders from King Lee, to arrest Li Hao Shi, and his guest, Shao Yu.
Meanwhile, a craftsman named He Zong was elevated to a high position in the court. He is waiting for orders.
Spoiler :

Li Hao Shi, hearing the news about the attack, sent the refugees under his care to one Lobsang, a Buddhist farmer, and prepared for the attack. And it was ferocious. By the end of the battle, King Lee's men were dead, while Li Hao Shi had sustained 214 casualties, out of his 1,000 men.
Strizu Hao, appointed in charge of the production of Wu Wei, put together another worker unit, as well as many horsemen.

Meanwhile, Pang De, hearing of the cruelties being perpitrated in King Lee's court, refused the offer of King Lee, and began preparing for war.

Somehow, the sages managed to continue their studies in this chaotic period, and after divining the secrets of Military Advisors, began developing a Code of Laws.
Spoiler :

That was when Ma Dai, Ma Teng's nephew, known for his skill with the lance, came of age. He managed to avoid the gaze of King Lee, however, and remained free.
Spoiler :

More cavalry were mobilized, and many of King Lee's foes began to be worried.
Spoiler :

That was when Li Jue, the rebel who held the emperor hostage, made arrogant demands. King Lee's response was a drunken rage, as he ordered Li Jue's messenger to be beheaded.
Spoiler :

When the bands of men ravaging the countryside heard of the defeat at the hands of Li Hao Shi, and where he had sent the rich fugitives, mobbed the holy place Lobsang had set up, intending to burn it down, after trapping the fugitives in it. When Lobsang heard of their coming, he and the fugitives prayed earnestly to Buddha to save them. As the temple went up in flames, Buddha heard their prayer, and sent rain from heaven. The rioters were filled with holy fear, and many layed down their weapons, and begged Lobsang to teach them the true way.
In Wu Wei, Strizu Hao opened a weapons shop, and managed to accumulate 69 gold from it.
Meanwhile, in the court of King Lee, the slaughter continued, as people who opposed him were executed by the dozens by his personal order.
Then, a savior rose. Pang De, enraged at the mistreatment of the Liangzhou people, enlisted the help of Chen Yi, and with a force of 21,000 soldiers, swept into Wu Wei. King Lee smugly summoned his troops, to find, to his horror, that they had gone over to Pang De. Even so, he managed to raise 14,000 peasants to his cause, and the fight was bloody. In the end, however, King Lee was defeated, and Pang De declared Chen Yi king of Liangzhou, while the former King Lee was cast into prison. Ma Teng and Ma Chao were released, and both of them, along with Pang De and Ma Dai, pledged their allegiance to King Yi. A portrait of King Yi is below.
Spoiler :

After the battle, a man named Nigh Ture offered aid to the wounded, and healed many wounds. Thus ended the Reign of Terror, as the historians now call it.
All hail, King Yi!

How can this be posible?

Chen Yi i trusted you, i gave you money and gonverment positions. I though that you were a friend and you betrayed me. May Buddha destroy you and bring death to all that you love. I wont acept you as king. You illegaly occupie my kingdom.

I pray to buddha and all know gods to bring death to Chen Yi.

I suppose I'm governor off now, but just in case Chen Yi wants to keep me as a governor :
Switch one horses tile from Wu Wei to sheep tile. Order worker to build a farm on one of those grasslands. When city grows, work the grassland. When city grows again, work the horses again.
Construction : Granary first, then one crossbowman, then the building which is currently at the bottom of the building list (I have no idea what it is), then horsemen again.

Orders for An Ding :
Finish the Schools, start construction of the temple. After finishing the temple start alternating production of crossbowmen and light horsemen for the king.
Tile management : build two more farms and grow on them. When the city is about to grow to size 8, let the eighth citizen work a workshop (already constructed by workers).
My action :
I go to the horse farms south of Wu Wei and buy myself a horse. (Costing whatever price and giving whatever benefit you decide, GM)

I suppose I'm governor off now,

You will soon become again gonvernor...........

Also Caragus did you saw my PM?

Shao Yu rides forth to meet with the barbarian envoy, greeting and speaking with him in the tribal tongue. Of partial Xianbei descent himself (half), he tries to appeal to northern nomadic sensibilities and suggest that the Xianbei (ooc: which I'm assuming because they're the only northern barbarians during this period) continue chasing west against their longtime foes, the Xiongnu, instead of raiding the lands of the Han. During the meeting, Shao Yu presents the rider with a gift of exquisite heavenly wine, which he furnished himself for 10 gold and shares a drink with the man.

EDIT: If you decide I never had a steppe pony to begin with, I'll furnish the cost for one, same as strijder20.
EDIT2: Out of those 214 casualties, of I'm assuming my men and the volunteers, how many are wounded and how many are dead?

I teach the rioters the True way, while denouncing Christos Lee as a false Buddhist, for a true Buddhist will never bring death to people.

I return to my farm and continue farming again. I will also give food to any people who need it.

This is my first post to CFF after years of lurking... I joined just now, Caragus, specifically to be a part of the RP you have going on here ^_^

I've been playing the Civ series off and on again, though usually pretty darn casually, since the days of SMAC. It's good to have an excuse to join the fora, though, and it's a pleasure to meet everyone!

(Next, I'm going to attempt an introduction to my character here and a post. Please let me know if anything's amiss.)

Name: 房 字安 (Fang Zi-An)
Occupation: Merchant
Short Story: A western would-be barbarian who was uprooted during civil unrest, and now seeks to be a Scholar or Bureaucrat.
Traits: Philosophical, Organized

Longer Story: Descended from a tribe of Yuezhi who settled in the western frontier and submitted to Han rule long ago, assimilating in culture if not in appearance. Fang once managed the manor of a noble family before the recent wars led to the... violent end of the family and their estate. Continues to believe personally in 分、the political philosophy of division, even after a narrow escape from plundering soldiers who fought supposedly under its name. He now seeks employment in the civil government of Liangzhou.

Fang consults with He Dong about new possibilities and opportunities for his building plans, in light of recent legal research.

OOC, I'm curious about Tian Shui's unusually high concentration of Han loyalists. Is stability an issue in this mod, or at least unrest from competing philosophies under the current civics? Also -- not to step on the toes of Governor Nigh Ture -- I'm also curious if Tian Shui thus has anything unique to offer this faction in the way of building. (In Vanilla terms, that would be monasteries and temples, but...)

This isn't a RP, it is a feud. But anyways, welcome to the forum!

Yes, welcome to the forum! Someone joined the forum because of my Feud? :faint:
Oh, and the belief in Revival offers no unique buildings, and doesn't cause any unrest. The Belief buildings in this game are Commanderies, Advisor Mansions, and Regional Governments, and can only be built for the state Belief.
I hope that answers your question.

I hope that answers your question.

It does, thank you! I would be a little more specific with my in-character actions, but will tread lightly on that since I don't know the mod, and since my memories of IV in general are a little on the rusty side ^_^;

Aw, well, I'll come to learn the terminology better with time, I guess... and thank you, too!

...not to step on the toes of Governor Nigh Ture...
Am I still in power? Without Lee in power, I think I'm not gov of any city right now...

Ohhai, I'm your new king! :king:

Never trust a devious merchant...
Chen Yi's Background said:
Nobody knows much about him or his intents

EDIT: Government positions:
Nigh Ture will remain governor of Tian Shui. Congratulations, Governor Ture; you have done a god job of ruling the city. Your expertise will be needed in the coming years.
Strizu Hao will become the new governor of An Ding. Good luck.
Li Hao Shi will be my advisor and control the capital city, Wu Wei.

We must move on from these times of political strife if we as a nation are to survive, and thrive beyond our neighbours. I call all Liangzhou citizens to prepare for whatever happens to us, for if we are prepared, we can overcome.

I work with He Dong about the Academy project, and offer to have field trips to visit Li Hao Shi Manor to take lessons on poetry and help clean up after the refugees and the battle.
