I'm told there's a stupidly big jackpot for this friday's euromillions.

But it got me thinking, would you really want to win it?

I mean, yeah a hundred million sounds good, but it would change your live completely. Would it make it better or worse? I think it would be bad, as you would lose your whole way of life, and get caught up in your money too much. And you hear stories about people losing all their money and ending up with nothing, and people leeching off other people that have won.

Or am I just thinking rubbish?

Depends how much restraint you have.

I have nothing to do with all that money right now except pay for college. I've never had overly expensive tastes (although I do like high quality items), and I don't see it becoming a problem.

I think often the people who have problems are those who are not financially secure and spend like crazy because they don't realize that a million dollars doesn't go all that far. I could be wrong on this, though, so don't take my word for it.

If you don't like it you can always donate to charity. I certainly wouldn't have any need for all that money.

I guess it depends on what sort of person you are. Whether you'd be sensible and pratical about it. Whether you'd let it get to your head or not.

I'd like to think with that much money i'd do all the things I dream about (like travellling the world and having fun with friends without having to worry about finances and so on).

Very true. One fella cant work out who his real friends are after landing a job that means he can stand his round, another guy seems perfectly normal and it turns out he stands to inherit half of northumberland.

£100 million? I am so buying a ticket.

True it would generate its own problems. Luckily you would be able to employ a fair sized team to deal with the problems.

I don't think it would make me any happier in the long run, but it would be quite a buzz in the short term.

are you kidding me? people say money cant buy happyness... people lie.
Exactly. Money can buy a prostitute, or a wife from Russia. :p

What sort of "problems"? I'd like to have these "problems."

i think bill3000 hit the nail right on the head.

that makes me wanna do homework. and by do i mean kick, and by homework i mean babies.

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Now apply that to money.

Believe me there is a massive difference with making 100 million from scratch and someone giving you 100 million for free. .

All it would get me would be more of what I already have, and not things I want.

Trust me, I will not decline that money should I happen to get it, and it would be great, and it would make a lot of things easier, BUT I don't think I would be happier with it.

Your chances of winning are so remote that it makes the whole deal pointless, that said though if you want a little spice go for it. Just expect to blow all your money on nothing, if your the few people who win, your just the few. I worked out that in order to stand a chance of winning the UK lottery if you played every Saturday it'd take 27,000 years on average to win. That said good luck:cool:

Money can bring happiness, just not true happiness. I'm happy that I can play Civ IV. If I didn't have the money to buy it I would probably be ever so slightly less happier. It's a gradient: If I had no money I have to say I'd be pretty unhappy - no house, computer, food etc. The more one has of something, the less important they become. For example Bill Gates has something like $60bn. $100,000 of that means practically nothing to him but it would mean a lot to someone with little money.

Its not like you get the money all at once.

Lotteries work i nthat you should be X amount of money every month for the rest of your life. This is usually only a few thousand dollars here in America. If you die the lottery isnt inherited, so your promised money is taken back sort of speak.

Still I wouldnt mind gettin a few thousand smackaroonies every month ;)
