Well that really depends on how much abuse has been heaped on them. But, first, you're just making things up to say "unwashed, ignorant rightwing masses". Once you start with crap like that, then you demonstrate why there is some hate. But it is certainly less than what right wingers have. The number of hate groups doubled in the US with the election of Obama.
