The Gallic War

We are currently strong compared to the Iroqi, average compared to the Greeks and weak compared to the Galls.

I took a risk and moved our stack off the hill. It would have taken another two to three turns to get that hill roaded. I moved down into the grasslands. We have two workers in the stack now and I think they can build a road on that tile in one turn so our stack (or what remains of it) should have road access next time we move. If the Galls attack our stack we should be able to use the brand new road to strike back. The risk is they can attack with their elite unit and possibly get a leader.

Here are our chances of winning the various possible battles (as far as I can tell):

elite GS vs. vet pike: 42%
elite GS vs. reg pike: 27%
vet GS vs. vet pike: 55%
vet GS vs. reg pike: 38%

We have four vet pikes they'd have to attack before they could attack our regular pikemen. The seventh attack would be against our elite immortal, unless one or more of our pikes remained stronger.

We can only see two GSs right now.

Here's a pic:

On a side note can you rename the immortal thats elite BCLG? :)

We should use that immortal fortified outside dyanopolis as a guard for that settler, they could do a hit and run with their swordsmen, so we may have to be prepared to spread our stack to a worker immortal combo.

Move one of the units outside Grenadeopolis down into the forests to check where they are.

Also should maybe send a couple of units south incase they put them swords back in a galley and then land them south.

Move at least one unit from the stack north next turn so we can see if theres anything in the dark there.

Following whether the Galls counter attack we need to start moving our troops west, to check where they are.

Sure. I'll name another one of the units donsig IV. (Hope I don't die again!) Anyone else want to be in the stack?

could i have an immortal named "greekguy the Great"? hopefully, it will do better than "greekguy" who died in the Iroqi war. :)

Whatever happened to the old BCLG?

also if were naming units, name one 'Beyotch killer'. whomp will understand the message when he sees it :D

OK, BCLG, donsig IV, greekguy the Great and Baldy Killer. Are we all immortals or does anyone want to be a pikeman?

An idea Rik told me was that we could name our workers after members of our team (the ones not being added to cities) that way workers are captured not killed. In KISS they have a hierachy type thing, where some members are workers and some are swordsmen, its just an idea.

People could be promoted from workers due to participation or something like that, gives a little bit of an incentive.

i'll be an immortal please. :)

btw, BCLG, that's a great idea. kind of what we're doing with the Bible names. so, you, me, and donsig can be military units, while all our new workers could be named after team members who post more sporadically.

Also people which are already units vote on people to become units in the future.

now that sounds like an excellent idea! :)

un-named (3/3) immortal vs. Scoutsout (4/4) GS
un-named immortal dies; Scoutsout loses two hp

un-named immortal vs. Scoutsout (2/4) GS
un-nmaed immortal loses 2 hp, Scoutsout dies

Bad news guys. I forgot to rename the units. :( Maybe next turn. Most of the immortals in the stack already have names. If we rename them are we breaking the rules?

We killed off Scoutsout, the only GS we could see. We lost a regular immortal in the first attack though.

We are strong compared to the Iroqi, average compared to the Greeks and weak compared to the Galls.

If K.I.S.S. can see them, be sure to inform them that the newly named immortals are the same ones as before.

Did we not spread the stack out like everyone else thought?

We did not spread our stack out. Ever heard of the saying divide and conquer? Let's not divide our strength for the Galls to pick us off. We need to see where the Galls are and they are making it difficult by pillaging the road network. A strategically placed city will increace our visibility through new cultural borders. We must decide before our next turn where to build our next city.

Sorry i didnt notice anothers objections as this was the first thread i checked, i disagree but can see why you did it. city should be places one tile west of current stack, will get another source of iron on border expansion and has fresh water nearby, if were not going to build an aqueduct 2 tiles west would give us a very good city to scout out KISS.

West of the stack is towards  If you mean one tile east (directly north of the horse) then there is no fresh water access. I'm still undecided as to whether to build where the stack is or rebuild both Unabomb and Horsebomb. I'm pretty sure we should replace Furbomb on the old site when we can.
