Anyone liking this for the consoles? Or is it like another Spore-like failure for EA?

I liked the opening movies that went with the first mission, and the business model of running rackets, but overall watching my buddy play his game, it looks like a boring GTA-clone in gangster threads.

I think it needs more drama and story overall. I also have trouble believing brothels hid behind bakery store fronts.

They did hide brothels, speak easies and stuff behind legitimate buisnesses. Peopel still do hide illegal operations that way. I bought and quite enjoyed The Godfather 1, for $9.99, no way am I going to pay $60 for it though.

Did you get any brass knuckles with your copy?

Does the game get any harder? I'm 1,5 hours in and so far it has been way too easy

It wasn't mine, just a friend's I was watching. The pre-order bonus was you get a special character for your posse that makes the early game a little easier. He starts with arson ability and is a better shot I believe.

@GVBN, I think the game is pretty boring myself. It's hard in a whack-a-mole way as far as I've seen (opposing godfather always attacking a racket that you aren't at).

Just finished the game. Took me 10 hours 25 minutes. Kinda short

It's way too easy, repetitive and has no depth. The game makes a big deal out of killing made men, creating monopolies, sabotaging enemy buildings, using favors etc. when you can just drive from racket to racket, take them over and fill them with guards. Health regeneration makes it way too easy. Oh and the game showers you with money. I recruited as many guards as possible and ended the game with 200k+ left and around 30k+ daily profits

I died twice during the game. The first was early in the game when I tried to rob the bank with no upgrades. The second was late in the game, I was on my way to the last compound and I drove right in the ocean. I never died in combat

I didn't fail any missions except one and that was that stupid, stupid forced stealth section. Why do game developers think that putting stealth sections in non-stealth games is a good idea

It's not all bad though. The execution animations are really bad ass and the game has bare tits in it. The last mission was really intense, I even lost 2 of my crew members when a police car knocked my car on a fence and as soon as I exited the car it just blinked out of existence, taking my buddies with it. Oh and the cops are really dumb in this game

No replay value at all. By the time you finish it you're so sick of taking over rackets. IMO the game is worth about $10 or so
