The "I Got A New Game!" Thread

Two shooters for the PC that come into mind that are new are:
Borderlands
Fallout New Vegas

A shooter exclusively for the 360:
Gears of War 3

Three shooters exclusively for the PS3:
Resistance: Fall of Man
Resistance 2
Battlefield: Bad Company 2

And Battlefield 3 is coming

Also a Sims 3 expansion pack and a stuff pack:
The Sims 3: Generations
The Sims 3: Town Life Stuff
I'm thinking about getting Pets as well.

Also coming: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Going to get some money this weekend and pre-order Batman: Arkham City for the PC.

Bad Company 1 is a console exclusive, not sure which if any have rights to it though.

I'm looking at getting two games that will be coming out in the future, Skyrim and Soulcalibur V. Skyrim because I really like the series and it looks like a must have, and Soulcalibur because I'm a fan of the series, the gameplay is fun, and Ezio Freaking Auditore is a guest character.

So what if he is a guest character? You can already play him in three games where his main move is to wait until someone attacks him (one at a time) and then counter-attack and (probably) kill them in one hit.

Hmmm, they might actually have to improve his fighting style so he is fun to play in a fighting game.

Clearly you haven't played the series, then. :p

But it was still kind of repetitive. Sure, 2 and Brotherhood have a lot more to do but...

When 1 came out, I was shocked and stunned by how beautiful the cities were, and how little they took advantage of it (there was almost nothing to do). When I played 2 and Brotherhood, I was glad that they added stuff to do, yet it is so shallow. And somehow these shallow repetitive tasks almost made me ignore the background city more than in 1, when it was obvious that the only way I'd take in the city was by my own will. In 2 and Brotherhood I'm too busy running around doing tedious repetitive assassination missions and timed stuff and "don't be detected" crap. Still, 2 and Brotherhood are superior games for sure. Still, the added stuff is not engrossing much. The whole "renovating the city", and the money system, is just annoying. I don't know... There's still something missing to truly take advantage of the setting in the way a game like GTA IV did for instance (which is itself not perfect). Real factions, more emphasis on the city itself, and not a series of quests that make you run around super fast while staring at your minimap in the corner. That's a problem GTA IV has also mind you, to some extent.

EDIT: I still played these AC games through. Somehow it's the background story (with Desmond) and the whole concept of the animus and "grand conspiracy", and weird unknown aliens, that keeps me going. The actual game... Well I take in the awesome sights. Frankly I've had enough of Ezio at this point though. Stop cashing in and make AC3 already, maybe I should go protest in front of their office in my city where they're based.

Just got Okamiden. It is indeed a toned down version of Okami, but still worth the buy. The story's interesting so far.

While AC 2 is better than AC 1, whoever said it isn't repetitive must be on payroll from Ubisoft.
Environments in this game rate 12 on a 10-point scale. Everything else rates between "horrible" and "barely adequate".

I got From Dust, a cool alternate game from ubisoft. You're some kind of ancient god of the elements and you have to help a tribe migrate by terraforming.

Battlefield 3 would be fun if not for the connection problems.

Battlefield 3 finally arrived in the mail :D

Enjoy your Origin spyware and brown & bloom generic shooter number #9204859390221

Spoiler :
:mischief:

I've played them both before, but buying Bioshock 1 and 2 for £7 on my brand new PC was too good of a deal to pass up on.

I already had Origin anyway for Battlefield 2 (before I found out/they added that crap in the EULA< which EA is probably going to have to fix anyway) and Battlefield 3 is actually very colourful. The bloom isn't too bad either.

I finally realized that Achron had released, so now I'm finally making use of that pre-order I did back in February of '10.
