The "I Got A New Game!" Thread

What do I do about the civil wars? Executions, imprisonment, stripping titles and wholesale destruction of noble houses isn't cutting it.

Are you racking up Tyranny opinion points? Do you have more than two duchies? What's your diplomacy score?

Eh...that's all a bit over my head at this point. All I know is people's opinions of me are in the red and negative.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.

Well, if you personally have >2 duchies (and are at least King-tier), you get a penalty for each additional duchy. Imprisonment without cause incurs Tyranny, which lowers your relations with your vassals. Executions and banishment will also incur Tyranny.

When a vassal rises against you and you defeat them, you're allowed to revoke one of their titles; after that it incurs Tyranny.

I dunno, it's hard to get a grasp of. I'm having a hard time getting the idea that I'm God-Emperor of whatever kingdom out of my head. Also in addition to not knowing what I'm doing I feel like a lot of what I do is secretarial, file paperwork with France, wait for favorable response, wait for acceptance, appoint courtier, issue order for plot, wait for favorable response, offer marriage, wait for response.

Granted I've only played for a few hours so maybe once I get a better feel for the game I'll enjoy it more. It's weird though, it's like all of medieval Europe and the Middle East is this really loose Game of Thronesy social set-up, in a way that never really existed outside of maaaayybbbbeeee France. Also my temptation to revoke titles and imprison and execute nobles every-time they demand lower crown authority just seems to be causing more civil wars. Must I kill everyone? Because I will if I have to.

If you haven't heard this before, play as an Irish count your first game.

If you have, why didn't you play as an Irish count your first game?

If you're looking for a completely free multiplayer turn-based strategy game with Vikings, you can't go wrong with Banner Saga Factions. It has very good art and combat is pretty easy to get into, but open enough for varied gameplay and strategies. Its like an expanded demo for the upcoming single player game they're working on showing off the combat system.

Meh. Playing War Thunder. Its awesome, not demanding hardware wise, and beautiful. Tonnes of detail about where the bullets hit on your plane (had a bomber blow up from a couple of hits because the lucky bastard hit my bombs) and despite no NA servers (EU/Russia only right now) 200 ping is not a problem at all. Almost took out a MiG-15 (matchmaking is a work in progress...) with a British biplane.

Then I flew into a dock.

EDIT: MiG-15 has only shown up once when it shouldn't, late at night lack of players is probably why. The guy only got 12 kills though, which is pretty good but not ridiculous, and his team still lost. So far in levels 1-4 its been bi-planes, early bombers and early non-bi-wing fighters and it works out well enough.

There should be a quadplane called the Battlemaster.

Humble Bundle 5!

Specifically of note, this means Beat Hazard and Dungeon Defenders w/ all DLC.

Beat Hazard is fantastic.

Beat Hazard is pretty much unplayable and the developer is an uncaring douchebag. Also I don't see it listed on the HB site, just a bunch of games everyone already owns (although three of them are great).

Tropico 4 DLC for 75% off. I made off like a bandit. The Collector's Edition is also 75% off, if anyone's interested. Base game, Modern Times expansion, and all DLC for just USD10.
