The "I Got A New Game!" Thread

I recently bought CivRevolutions for iPod Touch/iPhone.

Got CoD : WaW with the promotion on Steam, but can't download because the servers are too busy.

I hope it's good, it was kind of an impulse buy.

Its a pretty good game, especially if you got a decent deal on it on Steam.

I did the same thing as Izipo, and I like the Sov campaign's weapons better as well.

cod: waw is good but not as good as cod4. while the russian campaign is good, the japanese campaign is the most annoying piece of excrement ever. you just get sniped from trees all day long. anyway, the multiplayer is largely the same, only i prefer cod4 maps in all honesty. the only advantage it has is that it has nazi zombies which is genius and hella fun.

Yeah, I played a lot of CoD4 on my floormates' comps and 360s during last few semesters, and it was a lot of fun - but I dunno, I still think the tired old World War II shooters are more epic in feel. Storming Berlin was hella fun. I agree about the snipers in the trees too - friggin impossible to see, little buggers.

And also the Japanese had an annoying habit of just carpet bombing the entire map with grenades.

But the problem some WW2 FPS games are experiencing is you can only storm Berlin or Omaha so many times before it gets samey.

That's why I loved CoD4, it offered something new (and had the added bonus of being outstanding, that helped). I'm really excited for Modern Warfare 2 and I think it'll become my main MP game. Don't get me wrong, I thought WaW was brilliant and if the next Call of Duty (WaW2?) was set in 1939-1945, I wouldn't complain but I am glad that it's been officially split and now I won't have to wait for the the games in sequence, Modern Warfare, World at War, Modern Warfare, World at War etc.

I recently bought Fight Night 4 for the 360. Meh, it's good but it doesn't seem as fun as Fight Night 3 was.

Also bought HoI3, still learning, not actually fought anything yet.

I'm disapointed they actually RAISED THE PRICE on MW2 simply to make mroe money (seeing as no real reason was given and the CEO of Activision was quoted at a conference with investers/shareholders saying "I'd raise the prices even more if I could"), and the game will cost nearly $100 USD in Europe.

That and I'll have school to deal with. The game isn't going anywhere and will still be just as good later on. And if the multiplayer, which probably will be, is more of the exact same, I will mostly be playing it for the singleplayer. THe multiplayer only holds me for so long, and I HATE having to unlock weapons and I'm not a huge fan of the perk system the way CoD4 do them. Especially martyrdom. I hate martyrdom.

I got contra 4 recently, really, really fun. I also just started the advance wars series, again really fun

yeah, i'm disappointed with the price raise as well, so i'll probably just play it at my mates house on his ps3.

i love the cod4 multiplayer - perks and weapon variety really set it apart from many FPSs. and i think everyone hates martyrdom.

Greed at it's finest yay. Funny really, as steams own research shows they make more money when they sell their games cheaper.

I recently brought Unreal 3 finally for sweetstuffall from steam. Have always enjoyed the unreal engine.

Wii Sports Resort, got it yesterday. Local multiplayer is a riot, it's just too fun. Although the different mini games are hit and miss, some brilliant, some dead boring.

Also, ZP review :D

Team Fortress 2.

Expect to see me on CFC less and less often :goodjob:

If you play, add card_game as a friend.

Just bought Fallout 3 today!

I just got Silent Hunter IV as Ubisoft recently put it on Steam for those of us outside of North America. To those who have SH4, are the U-boat missions a worthy purchase?
