The Lost Fleet: Game Thread

[
Action Result: USS Prometheus

You beam aboard 50 surviovors. They are in stasis pods, and your Chief Medical Officer tells you that they can probably be revived. You gain 30 units of replicator matter, and 12 units of medical supplies.
Contact the Federation fleet.
"I am Captain Cryka of the USS Prometheus. I have to report that I have found 50 survivors in the wrecks. All of them are in stasis pods. It seems safe to transport them with our transporters. Would anyone be able to take on a bunch of these people? We can only handle so many. We will try to contact them by connecting a single stasis pod to Holodeck one unless that proves to be damaging. The doctor can barely make any sense out of these creature's physiology."

((Tambien, can I run a little PM thing with you that does alot of testing and if all else fails, put them back in the wrecks?))

To: The Prometheus

Acknowledged, Prometheus Actual. Temeraier has two of these on board as well. We are studying the pods, and any information that you discover may well be useful in activating. Request that you send an away team to gather information from the wrecks.

To: The Temeraire

That sounds like an extremely good idea Captain Sanchez. I had already been debating it in my head. Anyways, I'll go through with it.

USS Prometheus
Primary Action:
Attempt to find out whatever can be found out about the aliens in the stasis pods. It will first start with attempting to receive information from the wrecked ship. An away team consisting mostly of scientists will be transported over to the wreck the aliens in stasis pods came from. Each member of the away team will be wearing space suits with magnetic feet.
As well, added onto that, The scientists left on the Prometheus will try multiple methods to contact the alien species in non-harmful ways. The first they will try will be the holodeck one I stated earlier.

Minor Action: Clean out one of the storage areas and attempt to begin producing food in there using hydroponics.

Major Action: Study the Stasis pods as extensivly as possible without damaging them. Revive the Inhabitants only if it is beleived that this can be done without killing them.
Minor Action: Begin moving Civilian surplus onto the Temeraire.
Action Response: USS Temeraire

The aliens awake. They look like aquatic life, but obviously breathe air. Their skin is very moist. (They look like this) They begin to rapidly speak, and the Universal Translator gets enough words to decode their language almost immediately.

They say, "Where are we? Who are you? Why are we not on Draska?"

Contact the Federation fleet.

Sure. Just PM me to start. ;)

You find out that, whatever species they are, they are the same as those aboard the Temeraire. They have been in the stasis pods for around 300 years. All attempts at communication fail. They will have to be brought out...

The hydroponics bay is a resounding success.

Prometheus, this is Temeraire Actual. We have awakened our specimens, and our computers have translated their language. Beaming this information to you now, so that your away team may interface with their computers. Attempt to salvage information on the species, the local space, and technology.

Major Action: Attempt to elucidate who the aliens are, Inform that they are aboard a Federation Vessel, that they are safe, and that 50 of their brethren are still in stasis aboard another vessel. Inquire as to any special needs they have.
Minor Action: Send the Translation logs to the other ships in the fleet.

"We know who we are! We are Draskan! What is this Federation? We require water. Regular consumption of it."

(Pleade respond in dialogue, it makes it easier for me to create responses.)

To the Draskan:

I am Captain Sanchez of the USS Temeraire, of the United Federation of Planets, and Organization devoted to peace and exploration. We came across a number of derelict vessels. Our estimation are that the Vessels are at least 300 years old. We will provide you what assistance you need.

300 years?! That can't be right! We were traveling to the colony world of Grasdka, on His Imperial Fraskian Majesty's Ship Ilkris, the pride of the Fleet! She could travel at [rough translation] Warp 3! No, you can't be right.

If you wish to examine our sensor logs, feel free. additionally, if you tell of the location of your destination, we may be able to assist you in your journey.

Major Action: Scan the Derelict for any hints as to what damaged/disabled it.

Action Response: USS Temeraire

"We do not recognize this location."

Scans reveal stresses on the derelict similar to those caused to the Starfleet ships, along with weaponsfire. Possibly disruptors.

To the Draskan:

I am sorry to inform you that your vessels appear to have been caught in the same spatial anomaly as our vessels. Unless you can tell us where you are from in relation to this, it appears we are allies of convenience. You will be treated as Refugees to Federation space, with all honors that that implies.

The hydroponics bay is a resounding success.
((Turns out alot of that wasn't needed.))
Action:
Activate all the undamaged stasis pods. Organize them in the mess hall and let them choose a representative. The representative will then talk to Captain Sanchez. Also transfer information to scientists on derelict ship.

To: Prometheus Actual, do you have the room to hold these aliens? As you will be interacting with the larger majority of them, if you wish it, you may deal with them Directly, except on matters that deal with fleet security. If you do not have the room, the Temeraire, or one of the other vessels will take them off your hands. What have you discovered from the Derelict, after language transmition

That is a good idea but you have to think about culture shock. Think about it. If you went to sleep and were woken up by unidentifiable creatures who then proceeded to transfer you to a different vessel in their fleet, how would you feel? Once they get their bearings, we will transfer them.

To Prometheus:
Very Well. The Aliens are your responsibility. I will shortly Transfer the few I have over.

General message to fleet:
the hull breaches from the collision we hard during our emergence in this sector have been sufficiently repaired to being taking on patients. please forward the files of any civilians or personal in need of serious medical treatments and/or long term care. we will try to assist them as soon as possible.

To Prometheus:
these stasis pods offer a interesting possibility for the long term viability of our mission, and insuring that the civilians suffer minimal discomfort.
If you still have a working example of would you mind us sending some personnel over to bring it to the Nightingale for study? also, would you ask these Draskan if we may perform a medical scan of them and the other recovered group, so we may perform a comparative analysis to determine if they have suffered any long term effects from their stint in stasis?
If there are no long term effects from the stasis, and replication of the pods are possible, it would be highly recommended to put the majority of the civilian population in stasis, to minimize resource consumption. it would greatly extend our operational range and logistics.
