The many questions-not-worth-their-own-thread question thread XV

Depending on the girl, you don't. I still know the phone number and birthday of a I haven't spoken to since 1984.

Well, there goes my hope :suicide:

:p

I am probably the most emotional person I know so getting broken up with would take a heavy toll on my sanity especially since I have never been through it.

I want to know how to lessen the impact on my daily life if it happens.. if there is such a way.

Good. Then if she breaks up with you, show your emotion. The worst thing you can do is bottle it all up, that will only make it worse. Cry, scream, punch a hole in the wall, whatever acts as a sort of "therapy" to you, do it. That's the best way to deal with things like this.

Also, its good to realize that if it doesn't work out, it would've never worked out. If she wasn't right for you, then she wasn't, and nothing will change that.

Just be glad you realize that now rather than 20 years into a marriage.

(also, obligatory, there are plenty of fish in the sea, etc etc)

Who wants to date a fish?

Is there such thing as an arab jew? I know there are arab christians what about jews?

What kind of advanced technology can we expect in the next 50 years?

That's exactly what the article links to. :crazyeye:

Thats not exactly what I meant. I meant a person of Arab ethnicity and not jewish ethnicity who is a follower of judaism.

Further to the other answers, Arabs and Jews both speak languages which are members of the Semitic group of languages, thus indicating a possible connection as is.

I stumbled on this from an 1856 article.

1. Does it say what I think it says?
2. Is there an actual place called that?

Im asking this in serious. Not to bypass the autocensor.

Spoiler Mild profanity :

A steam powered ship 'raises steam' means that they have their boilers fully heated up (which on large boilers can take hours) and so can use their engines at any time.

The AM loop antennae that came with my new A/V receiver really sucks. No matter where I've positioned it in the room I just pick up annoying buzzing and no actual stations. Any ideas? I don't know if this is a matter of interference as the antennae on the old one in this room worked perfectly.

There are still AM stations?

I was asking about the location they were leaving from, which has a bad word in it. I wasnt sure if it was a bad scan or not. I google mapped it and got Spithead (which is someplace in Alaska). Sbithead doesn't make any sense.

Depends how much wallpaper paste they can apply per hour I suppose.

Probably a typo of Spithead.

Thats a funny typo. Did that word mean the same thing back then? I read somewhere it stood for Ship High In Transit but another site said thats not true.
