The NOTW Information Thread

Here are a few facts you should familiarize yourself with!

1. M-NotWIII was killed due to a hard drive crash.
2. I am convinced that nobody has done what I wanted to try with that game.
3. I am going on vacation in a week. Three weeks in Taiwan = joy?
4. It's likely that I'm going to be bored at least some of the time.

I'm going to rebuild my NotW from scratch. It might be a bit simplified, but I think it'll do. This time, I have a 15 GB flash drive to back important things up in!

Hopefully the release of M-NotW will nicely coincide with the midpoint of the current NotW and I can dazzle everyone with my constant failure to keep to a schedule as evinced by SnF3!

Edit: It's been brought to my attention that 5 is currently taking signups. WELL TOO BAD, I'm going to tinker with my game anyway and have it ready. Unlike the rest of you lot, I don't have any grandiose dreams, so it's incredibly unlikely that my M-NotW is going to get upgraded any time soon. Sorry!

Great. Pinman, I'll PM you what I've made up of the game as of yet, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. Ekolite, I'll PM you aswell, asking for a final confirmation that you will not be playing, since I don't want to send spoilerish material if you change your mind.

Oh and I think Backwards Logic is doing a good job with this thread, I hope he can make out the order of the NotWs from the mess on the last page

I will be away for two weeks in late August. I think I'd be leaving more or less at the time your game would start (25th of August iirc) meaning that I would be unable to play anyway, not to mention the fact that after mine and Renata's game I will probably be leaving the forum. Feel free to discuss with me any ideas you might have, as I'm designing a NOTW myself at the moment I feel like I'm in a NOTW-themed frame of mind, so I may be able to offer help with mechanics/general ideas if you need it.

Basically, the question is, do we repost those onto the main forum somehow?

Go to the attach button (paperclip) when making a post, and upload the NoTW files.

The second dumpfile had threads from before 17 Oct 2006, apparently. Would there be any NotWs in that... well, I joined in mid-February 2007, and at that time, NotW V was just finishing.

Actually, looking at the very old info thread in the Fall from Heaven forum, it looks like thomas was taking signups for NotW IV in mid-December 06, so that means NotW III had probably just finished. And the games were a lot shorter in those days IIRC because there weren't so many participants, so it could be that all there would be in the Oct 06 dumpfile is maybe part of the signup thread for NotW II. Worth a try though!

(Ooh, the third anniversary of NotW is less than a month away. We should totally have a party, with, like, wolfsbane-cake.

Also, NotW I was completed in seven days? How the heck did Kael manage that? That man is a wizard.)

EDIT: Incidently, do we have anything on S&F or dissensions in dumpfile #1?

Just a poll made by Tolis asking if anyone would still be interested in Dissensions. The second Dissensions is still available in this forum; everything else (both S&Fs, the first Dissensions, Ascension, Wild Hunt, Stadium of Superpowers etc.) was too early.

Unfortunately, the program didnt archive the other pages- but I have hope that they can be found somewhere else.

We've already spoken to Methos, but as a warning to anyone else who may have the ability to view private social groups, we have opened a new social group for us to brainstorm ideas for our game, it is for our use only, and it will be full of spoilers about the game. Anyone who somehow manages to get a peek into it will be unable to play in our NOTW. As it is private, most people that aren't group members can't get into it - however moderators, and maybe some other staff members, can.
