I finally got Civ 4-Gamestop-Dallas,TX. It's awesome, installed with no problems and plays with no problems. I received the infamous French tech tree though. LOL

Got it today, installed it, didn't work. Got new Graphics Drivers, worked a bit. Games stuck at "initializing". Anyway...that intro reminds me somehow of Civ I *g*.

Just got my Presell version -- it freaked me out a little that the blue box was hidden by cardboard. Smaller than I expected too.

English Tech Tree. Correctly labeled disks. I feel left out getting a "correctly made" version.

Good: I got mine today! (special edition)
Bad: I have to work
Good: It came with the English tech tree (not the French one)!
Bad: The CD's have the mislabeling issue (minor problem only).
Good: It seemed to install and run through the startup movie just fine!
Bad: I won't be able to tell anything more until I finish a project at work and go home to play.

Best Buy on Wednesday. The girl I talked to on the phone sounded kind of frazzled, since she had been calls for Civ IV all day.

There were only five copies left when I got there at 4:30.

Got it on Thursday, after trying three GameStop / Software Etc. locations who said they only had copies for people who had reserved the game, found one which had 6 copies available. Installed it on my machine, and when starting the program the first time it said "your system is below recommended specifications, adjusting settings" or somesuch. Got the black terrain + cheshire cat problem (Radeon 7000 card). Played a couple of games with the workaround but having everything look like fog sucks too, so dropped some more $$ on a All-In-Wonder 2006 (9600 chipset) card. Now it works great.

Reminds me of a MasterCard (TM) commercial:

Got it! finally!!!!! I'm so excited!! I' bought it yesterday afternoon, just after I had my driving license!

It runs very well on my P4 2.5GHZ, 512 MB Ram, Radeon 9600XT, at a resolution of 1024X700, with all the settings on High (exept AA, I don't use it).

Got it in an EB games in a little town in MA on Friday, out of the 20 copies on the shelves.

No installation problems (Radeon x600 256mb), and I got my English tech tree. Incorrectly labeled discs, but who cares?

Yes, the disk labels should be "Installation & Play" and "More Installation".

Has anyone gotten a pre-sale version from Amazon yet? My girlfreind and I orderd it a while ago and got the expidited shipping (3-5 bussiness days) and still have seen nothing. I guess 5 days would be next tuesday, but I was still wondering if anyone had seen anything in the mail yet.
