The "OMG! Look what happened in DoC!" Thread

I know this is meant to be for AI stuff but looks like all the player threads are dead.

Built a Buddhist Turkic Empire stretching all the way from Zhongdu to Constantinople... Silk Road making money out the ass.

Honestly, best roll ever. Started as Poland on 3000BC and Catholicism hadn't even been founded yet!

Everyone was pleased or friendly within a few turns and I quickly found Catholicism, a real jumpstart on the three Christian Cathedrals UHV.

Spoiler :

This might be the thread you are looking for. (I don't think it's helpful that it's hidden in gameplay guides subforum.)
Apparently that subforum is also for sharing human games. At least that's what I was told when I posted some postgame screenshot of an egypt game prior to making that thread

What is that name Los Angeles has?
Probably a greek generic city name. If a city is given a "this tile doesn't have a city so here's the top name in the civ's list of generic city names", the city will never have a different city name.

This is due to how the city name manager's name change mechanic is implemented via name lookups rather than tile position lookups.
Considering that the new CNM is going to use a unified city name map, I highly doubt this "glitch" will carry over between implementations.

A volcano eruption blows away wheat farm, an iron mine, and a hamlet.
The very next turn, Greek conquerors spawn all over Persia.

Why does the marshes have the round icons popped up? I thought they didn't appear since.. well I can't even remember when.

I just went on a spree of giving gifts of gold to other nations in exchange for increasing our relations and thus improving my stability.
Half the nations cut off contact immediately afterwards

See, that's why you don't give money to panhandlers.
