The "OMG! Look what happened!" Thread

Oh look, an Internet argument.

On the topic historical games, I once saw Rome build the Coliseum, and America the Pentagon. I was impressed.

to get back on topic, I've never had 4 civs offer to be my vassals on the same turn before

Oh look, an Internet argument.

Hey now, OMG!s are serious business. It's vitally important that we establish that they're produced with latest version, with no modmods, and that absolutely nobody else has ever seen the same thing happen in an RFC game ever. You don't even want to know the horrendous consequences of one slipping by. :shake:

got a few more from my Babylonian game:
1. Aztecs settling New Mexico and on the way to California.
2. Ethiopia came back, then collapsed the next turn leaving a mess in W. Africa.
3. And the French settled New Zealand and Australia before collapsing.

Before anyone asks, this is version 1.185, the version that shipped with BTS for mac, and I can't update it.

Humour in a forum involves the use of smilies.
You are not funny and are now lamely trying to infer the use of humour when you are just a boor.

What's a boor? Is that an Australian term or something?

To "forget" that you are playing in a succession game, as a repeat offender, is why I find your presence on this forum to be a waste of bandwidth. That and the fact that you have clearly got no idea what good play at RFC actually involves.

You don't believe me. That's fine, but I play mostly for historical re-enactment or believable alternate history.
'Good play' comes second for me, because I'm not an andriod that likes to calculate everything to the mili-turn to create the most efficient outcome for a certain victory. If I want that type of game I would play chess for example.

I apologize for not agreeing with you, but maybe you could learn to tolerate people with different interests?

I agree. Let's keep this thread clean from personal attacks (like Blizzrd made) and mod-mod OMG's. I don't say they don't deserve a place, but they should be in other threads.

No heresy (mod-mod's) and cursing (fighting) in the Holy Shrine-thread for the Worship of RFC and the sharing of Sacred Moments.

boor (n).
1. A person with rude, clumsy manners and little refinement.
2. A peasant.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Dutch boer, from Middle Dutch gheboer; see bheu- in Indo-European roots.]

Ah, a 'boer'. Yes, the region (Noord-Brabant province) where I was born people like to call themselves 'boer' which means 'farmer' and they perfectly fit your description.

Except for the 'rude' part: They are very social and pleasant people, like me.

Thanks for reminding me of my heritage. :D

I take offense to that one! ;)

Maybe I'm subjective here as one of the modmodders, but they shouldn't be a problem if you point out something that could've happened in regular RFC as well. So the above screenshot would be okay, but for example posting "omg Rome conquered Tyre in DoC" would not, because they get help there that they don't in RFC vanilla.

Modmod OMGs are pretty awesome - generally because modmods by their nature are slightly less tested and optimised than the game/mod they come from, leaving possibilities for weird behaviour :D

It would be nice if the posters said which modmod/version they play, as a service to the reader.

Thanks,
TDK

Actually, the French have green in their stability maps in some regions of Australia and NZ.

EDIT :
:D
interesting, they never lost their Paris, Germany collapsed some time ago, then they started expanding East, and well, i saw this yesterday.
civ4beyondsword20101214.png

playing DoC, to those wondering the catholic cathedral...
another interesting thing is that the ottomans are catholic from the start! even when they started invading arabia...
and as you guys can see, the Franco-Italian army conquered collapsed Germany nicely, Italy owns Wien...
another thing, there is a world war between Catholic Spain x Catholic France + Portugal + Cisalpine Republic (italy) + Russia + OE. the spanish took Oporto from Portugal and Marseilles...i wonder if the portuguese can continue to hold Lisboa against the spanish war machine. recently i sided with France.

EDIT2: the spanish lost Madrid to... Italy... these monsters now own another great capital... France recovered Marseilles some time before

EDIT3 : aww, i lost a super omg now. Spain Capitulated to Russia and at the same turn gave me 330 for peace they already had because of the capitulation o_o forgot to take SS

Worst. Dutch. Colony. Ever. :p

... but it would be cool if the area was Dutch IRL. It was first discovered by "us". :king:

...and it should be called Kaap Hoorn, not Kaap Horn.

Haven't the Spanish been there earlier? It's called Magellan strait, after all.

It's called Cape Hoorn and it was first discovered by a Dutchman. He named it Kaap (Cape) Hoorn after the city of Hoorn in the Netherlands.

I know that Kaap Hoorn is called Kaap Hoorn, I was talking about the strait that goes around it.
