I claim the civilization of Samarkand...in SAMARKAND!
What's wrong with Maracanda?
@das, are we supposed to even claim anything?
No, you're supposed to create some civilisations.
Any chance I could start in the British Isles (eventually, if it must be so)?
Eventually. Very eventually...
I will take the Zapotec, however, I demand that the inevitable clash of civilizations actually be handled realistically, which it almost never is.
Realistically meaning with plagues devastating both of the clashing civilisations? Okay, I have some better ideas on how to implement that now.
The Bedoins in Mesopotamia bordering Persian Gulf and
Modern Arabs as such are still "in development", and life further south. Southern Mesopotamia is more likely to be Elamite, Amorite or Aramaean, the latter should be fairly similar to Bedouins actually, as far as ancient Semites go.
Sure I will start in Sogdiana then.
Didn't Azale already take that (Maracanda being the Sogdian capital)?

*mutters about China being neolithic as late as 2000 BC*
@Das, are the celtics as expansive as OTL?
Not yet, they're still in their formative period, so presumably those most adventurous Celtic tribes that braved the "Tyrrhenian" Sea would be the ones to determine their future attitude.

Some things:
- Azale, Lightfang, Nuclear kid, Luckymoose, j_eps, Wubba360 - some more detail about your nations would be appreciated.
- Disturbing absence of nations in most of Mesopotamia and Anatolia duly noted.
- "Not exactly sure what specifically I want you to do at this moment, though?"

I suppose the previous explanation was too vague... what I want right now is some stories and stuff, to flesh out your civilisations (in such a NES type that would be even more important than ordinarily), as well as BT orders, to give me some idea of what general directions do you want it to develop in.
I.e. you created Rome, wrote some stuff about Romulus and about the early Roman culture, sent BT orders for it to eventually transform into a Republic, for it to develop a martial tradition and for it to move to asset hegemony in Latium and beyond with armies, colonies and allied tribes. Ideally it will be a bit more detailed than that, but this is the general idea.
If you don't write anything at all, even a measily description of what's your culture supposed to be, then it is likely to lose much of its cultural identity to the influences - and perhaps armies - of other civilisations. If you don't send BT orders, I will be taking liberties with the course of your nation's development. However, I would really, really appreciate BT orders, especially now, as they will greatly help me figure out how this world diverged from ours.
Any other questions?
EDIT:
what is the furthest west location that contained Aryans; Persia?
Depends on what do you consider Aryans. Still, Aryana (i.e. Afghanistan) would be a safe bet; beyond that, we have ridicilously closely-related Iranians who still kind of rule the steppes but are also advancing into Persia. And then there are assorted Europeans and Hittites, who are also related, and Hittites particularily noticeably so (shared gods and stuff).
