Can some people please explain to me exactly what they like about Obama and the democrats in charge now? I just can't understand why or how anyone could think any of the stupid crap they're doing is good for anything. I'd especially like to know what exactly Europeans like about him/them.

The first thing is always that he is not a Republican. That should make anyone prefer him. The point is not that the Democrats are so great, but that the Republicans are the worst thing ever for America. Until the Republican party fundamentally changes, there is no excuse to vote for any of them at all.

There isn't tons of reasons to vote for the Democrats, but the simple fact that they are not Republicans makes them superior to Republicans on all issues.

Reagan did an illegal immigrant amnesty. Republicans have done stimulus and TARP. Republicans did the Medicare Prescription Drug Plan.

The difference between programs like these and, say, the Patriot Act, is that the programs you mentioned increase freedom, security, and prosperity. While the ones conservatives favor take away freedom, liberty, and prosperity.

Well if so I clearly missed that part of the argument. However, I don't see that either. The Republicans used emotion over reason constantly to push their agenda.

So? I'm not saying Republicans are innocent of such, you democrats have to just get over it and realize you're the same freaking thing as the republicans just with slightly different takes on certain issues with the main difference being your mindset.
