Where should I shave? Over a sink? over a bathtub? Where is the best place to shave for my plumbing?
Also, why should I use shaving cream? Should I go without shaving cream?
Also, How often should I replace my one-time use razors?
If you're taking off long facial hair, trim it down first. Dispose of that in the regular trash.
Whatever's left on your face will be small enough to not matter for the pipes. The waste pipes start off at like 1-2" in diameter and only get bigger. Hairs smaller than 3 or 4 inches wont cause problems.
Use shaving cream to bring the hair up, lubricate your skin, and generally make shaving a less destructive experience for your facial skin. It also helps get a better and closer shave.
I used to replace my razors every month, but I would also sharpen them in between shavings. A cool way to do that is to pull it over the top of the forearm, but backwards. You wanna make sure you're not actually shaving/cutting yourself with it, but rather just dragging the tips of the blades over your skin. The skin is rough enough to put a nice edge back on the blade.
Nowadays I have a nice electric razor and a single-blade razor. The former just needs a cleaning, the latter gets replaced about once a month (maybe less)
Me too. And i just use warm or hot water, no shaving cream.
EDIT: Crosspost
A mark of someone who doesn't shave very often. Way back when, shaving once or twice a week with just warm water worked fine for me, but when you get to having to shave daily, the irritation caused by lack of shaving cream (and possibly improper technique) will cause quite a bit of discomfort.
