The Sims 2 | "Nehru" Legacy Challenge (Reader Participation Welcome)

Leopold!

So help me, I hope Leopold has nothing but girls.

Just returned home, hope to play tonight.

Leopold's back!

gen82.jpg

There are two solid possibilities for his heir-maker: one is a Vacation Island sim with black hair and Asian features that would be an interesting contribution to the gene pool at this point in the game; the other is Meadow Peterson, with black hair and blue eyes. Since the Asian girl, Chloe, has brown eyes, I reluctantly had Leopold propose to Meadow.

I didn't realize it at the time, but they weren't in love, didn't have crushes on one another, and weren't officially best friends. All that followed the proposal.

gen83.jpg

Leopold becomes the first heir to visit the matrimonial isle.

gen84.jpg

Hair, eyes, and skin color aside, Meadow doesn't bring a lot to the table. We'll skill her properly, though.

gen85.jpg

Aw, they didn't woo-hoo before getting married. How quaint.

gen86.jpg

We've had enough cooks in this household, so I direct her attention to a Sims 1 career which was remade for Sims 2.

gen87.jpg

The Generation Eight pair.

gen88.jpg

 Poor Leo. You never got your first kiss?

gen89.jpg

There we go, fixed.

gen90.jpg

...hello, PERFECTION.

gen91.jpg

Leopold wants to be a Prestidigitator, so...

gen92.jpg

Yep, we're definitely going to hit 3 million before the end. I am not sure of everything the dividends/stock-market perk factors in, but I know it varies on (1) how many Fortune sims with the perk are in-house and (2) the size of the bank account. Once you're stinking rich you get a snowball effect going.

gen94.jpg

Regina seems to have lost face after losing the heir poll.

gen95.jpg

...so we'll fix that.

(The game seems to hiccup when aging Young Adult witches into Adult witches: their faces break. I think this relates to the good-witch sparkles.)

gen96.jpg

I was tired of Victoria's dress, so a change of clothes is in order.

gen97.jpg

Helloooo, Generation Nine!

gen98.jpg

I'm siii-iiinging in the rain, just siii-iiii-iiinging in the rain...

gen99.jpg

What a won-der-ful feeeeeeeling, I'm broken again...

(I told him to go sit in the magic chair. Why he was on the roof dancing in rain puddles, I don't know.)

gen100.jpg

Alas, his hopes of matching Gene Kelley were short-circuited.

gen101.jpg

Closer...

gen102.jpg

Hey-oh!

Here's a little secret: she's having twins. Nice way to go into Generation Nine.

Royal pair name submissions are now open. :king::goodjob:

Castor and Pollux!

D'oh! Yeah, I forgot to mention I need potential pairings for M/M, M/F, and F/F. I think Omega's got the M/F combo locked in, though.

Thelma and Louise.

Sooty and Sweep.

Ignorance and Want.

Stoppit and Tidyup.

Selena Gomez and The Scene.

I seem to recall suggesting Fernando and Isabel before. :)

I seem to recall suggesting Fernando and Isabel before. :)

Yep, which is why its repeated suggestion gets a lock. I also like the two names. If they have a third child who is a girl, I may name it Maria regardless.

dleg2.jpg

The beginning of Generation Nine is heralded by the births of two blue-eyed, black-haired...

dleg1.jpg

...children. Isabella has a medium skin tone, while Ferdinand is darker.

dleg3.jpg

And the Nehrus immediately begin picking the babies up and putting them in the floor, meaning for the next few days my camera will be focused on the nursery to intercept troublesome Sims trying to tend to the babies in their own woefully inefficient way.

dleg5.jpg

Whoa! Six figures. We'll DEFINITELY be hitting 3 million before the legacy is over.

dleg7.jpg

Leopold gets his lifetime want, a job as a high-class magician, but he doesn't appear happy about it.

dleg17.jpg

...and his own The Cheat doesn't seem to cheer him up.

dleg10.jpg

So, I'll get him another job, and one that corresponds to his preferred hobby.

dleg8.jpg

Fun discovery: witches can cast Beamoodis Simae on sleeping Sims. Here, PERFECTION tends to Victoria's needs after a long day of fishing.

dleg9.jpg

The job descriptions are from the original Maxis career (introduced in Livin' Large).

dleg11.jpg
dleg12.jpg

In no time at all, the kids grow up.

dleg13.jpg

Poor Albert is flunking school, somewhat stinky, and being followed around by a large Freudian rabbit. I've kind of forgotten about him, but now that the kids are toddlers that's over with.

dleg18.jpg

Albert makes a good uncle.

dleg14.jpg

I always liked this career back during my Sims 1 days. One of the chance cards gave the Sim a bit bundle of money after their start-up IPO hit big.

dleg15.jpg

What do you mean, you don't FEEL like it? You're a ROBOT! Dr. A, lay some knowledge out for him.

isaacasimov.jpg
"THE FIRST LAW OF ROBOTICS: A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

SECOND LAW: A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.

Thank you. And now, since you don't seem to follow the Laws, why don't you go break the third* and go cloudgaze?

...during a nice rainshower?

dleg16.jpg

dleg19.jpg

Boom!

dleg20.jpg

Little by little, the kids get their skills....

dleg21.jpg

...and grow up! Meadow wants another baby, but despite trying a few more times they've not hit luck.

dleg22.jpg

And on that note, with Leopold looking so smug at his kids' success, we'll leave off.

* Third Law: A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

A little lategame perhaps :D, but subbed.

Nehru Legacy 9.2

First things first: time for Albert to hit the road.

al2l.jpg

I had Meadow pursue the most likely skills (Logic, Mechanical, and Creativity) before taking this career, hence her steady stream of promotions. I didn't anticipate the need for Charisma, though.

al3j.jpg

....we were expecting a somewhat more DIGNIFIED headmaster for Nehru Hills' private school. Harrumph.

Once parents have children toddler-size and up, they can call the headmaster to enroll those children in private school. It's free: the only challenge is passing the Headmaster scenario. It's rather easy to do: I tend to follow the same formula. What you DON'T want to do:
- save after calling the headmaster, but before he arrives. This automatically results in a rejection.
- let special events like birthdays happen during the scenario.
- give the headmaster too much leeway. If you leave him to his own devices he'll get stuck in the hot tub or something like that.

al4o.jpg

The first thing I do is have a high-charisma Sim "schmooze" with the headmaster. Though unnecessary, I like to have points in all three of the main categories: Schmooze, Tour, and Dinner. (You can get extra points if you serve the headmaster coffee or let him get in the hot tub, but those behaviors might get him stuck so I never do it.)

al5a.jpg

After the initial schmoozing, I have a Sim offer him a tour. At the same time, I have another Sim with a high cooking score prepare a turkey dinner. (Turkey and lobster are the best foods for the headmaster dinner.) The tour is simple: just have your escorting Sim walk to your home's four or five best rooms, wait for the headmaster to show up, and then click "Show room". The best rooms have learning equipment and art. He especially likes to hear Sims playing the piano.

al6p.jpg

He appeared to REALLY LOVE this sculpture, because after seeing the living room and this sculpture, he declared that the house was great.

al7y.jpg

By the time the tour is over, turkey should be done.

al8j.jpg

You can then call the headmaster for dinner. I try not to have too many Sims sitting around the dinner table, because conversation makes the meal last longer and you might run out of time.

al9wf.jpg

Since THIS home's tour ended early, though, the whole family eats with the professor. Ferd and Isabella got in successfully.

al10l.jpg

...and like all Nehru children, earn their place of privilege through dutiful skilling.

al11n.jpg

Private school uniforms. There's not a great deal of difference between the private and public schools. I've HEARD that private schools don't diminish motives as much, though I've never noticed this. What they're notable for (besides marking some kids as 'special'), is skill-based rewards.

al12.jpg

If the kids were in public school, they would have gotten a small sum of money. In private schools, skills are given instead.

al13u.jpg

Since I can't seem to find any other portraits of Victoria, I commission PERFECTION to create one.

al14.jpg

He and Victoria also start selling some of the random stuff from her pockets at the Depot. (She has Gold badges in sewing, tinkering, toy-making, and pottery, so there's a LOT of stuff in her pockets.)

al15.jpg

al16l.jpg

One of the original Sims 1 chance cards for this career gave §50,000 as a reward for a successful IPO startup. Pretty sweet.

al17.jpg

She's your mom, and as Queen all her choices are perfect.

al18.jpg

Ungrateful peasants! Why haven't I downloaded a monarchy career yet?

al19o.jpg

 There's that §50,000 back.

al20.jpg

Time for our little Gen-Niners to grow up!

al21.jpg

Ferd is first: he's a Popularity sim.

al22.jpg

Isabella, who chooses Fortune, is next.

Next time: the kids will go to sales-badge boot camp to help their grandmother clear out all her toys, pots, and robots.
