The teen movie "slow clap"?

Actually, at my school we've reversed the meaning of it and made it insulting. Whenever somebody severely messes up physically (trips or misses a catch, or in a particularly hilarious example that actually happened at my school, whiffing at a kickball and falling flat on your back), we slow clap to taunt them.

Same thing happens at my school but it's a bit overused. People try to start it all the time and it's just annoying now.

Animal House (1978) in a classic scene by John Belushi that the OP's inspirational dialogue mimics - "Was it over when the Germans attacked Pearl Harbor?".

I remember that speech. BUT, do they give him the slow clap? Do people rise from their seats?

I'm enjoying the responses, tx guys. :)
