The Socialist Union of Democratic States transformed into the Stellar Union of Democratic Socialism when it began to expand beyond Earth. Let progress went slow and our reach only reached the ends of our Solar System. Then we began to set colony fleets, beginning with Operation Vinland which was named in tribute to the tale of Norse discovering America. The operation ended with the reach of now known Vinland System but only planets that supported life was minimal, requirement expensive resources to live on. Another directive known as Operation Next Frontier attempt further but the case ended fatally for the Next Frontier fleet. After confidence lowered it rose with a new operation: the Hopespring Directive, set by Director Thomas Belrose. Blessed by the Grand Premier Anna Adler, the Hopesring fleet set off. However as it reached outside stable communication links with the SUDS, a mysterious warp hole sucked the Hopespring ships in. On the other side of the hole the fleet founded a new planet that could hold life but the ships were seriously damaged from the warp hole, so evacuation was set quickly as the democratic socialist colonialists departed for this new world.
Landing at what would be named Liberty Point, the colonialists began to spread out. Quickly setting settlements, with provinces primly claimed the colonialists chose the southern proven to hold the capital of their new home: Hopespring, in honour to the directive. In what would be known as the Roux Memorial Summit, the structure of the newly forged Socialist Organisation of Democratic Societies, an organisation of holding each province as a society, was written. The first Grand Premier of this union of democratic socialist colonies, Vosgi Mooshian, was elected. At the same time the political parties starting emerging. Let it did not take long before the S.O.D.S discovered they were not alone… and the planet had a ruler with sadistic interest in the new arrivals.

The Hive
Claims
The Hive are a race of reptilian, six limbed creatures. Their society is similar to Terran insect colonies with a caste system and no identifiable leader. The castes are as follows:
Queens are breeders, they birth all members of the Hive. They are bloated and their limbs are atrophied. They are taken care of by nurses.
Nurses care for the queens and the young, they are bipedal with four arms.
Workers carry out a wide range of tasks from manual labour to theoretical physics. They are highly versatile and can take on other castes roles (other than queen, drone or infiltrator) if needed. They are generally quadrapedal but their upper limbs can function equally well as arms or legs.
Soldiers are, well, soldiers. They are large, bipedal and short tempered.
Scouts are small and bipedal with wings in place of their central limbs. They are incredibly quick whether in the air or the ground. They search for resources and enemies.
Infiltrators are chameleonic with a wide variety of body shaped and sizes. They can choose when to shed and can consciously change their form when they do so.
Drones are small and winged, their primary function is to fertilise queens but thanks to their speed they are often utilised as messengers. They are barely sentient but can follow commands.

This name is fitting, considering the Empire is ruled by the Celestial Emperor, who is the sum of all individuals who have gained the throne through the "great game". In this game the noble caste constantly plays at to attain the throne, each victor attains the prize by slaying the previous vessel of the Emperor, and in turn becomes subsumed into the ruler as his new incarnate avatar adding their intelligence to those who came before on the eternal path to perfection, and to dominion over all creation.

The Children of the Emperor cannot comprehend your concept of socialism. The Celestial Emperor is the sum and essence our species made incarnate in a single individual, it is the natural order of things that the incarnate Lord governs the Empire.
Your species may have its own way of doing things, lacking as it does an equivalent to the Celestial Emperor. But we will not abide foolish attempts to impose passing ideologies on our kind, when nature itself has ordained that we bow before the immortal intellect and will of the Father of our species.
