The muskrat lives in the woods next to our house and frequently comes over into our yard. I'm just curious if he's dangerous in any way. He looks to be about a foot and a half long, maybe 10 pounds or a little less.

If he's a muskrat he's probably fine. If he's a groundhog then make sure non of his spawn set up a burrow under your foundation. Just don't corner him and he should run away if he sees you. If he's not scared of you, just make sure it isn't rabid.

He looks like a beaver thats small and has a small, furry tail. Muskrat, right? What do they even do? Eat grass? Or puppies? :yikes:

Prolly muskrat. Eats mostly plants, some mussels/crawfish. Keep puppy away. Puppy prolly thinks is a toy, muskrat big enough to not want to be toy.

How much may translating and dubbing a movie may cost? Does anybody here have an idea?

I killed a bear today. Did you kill anything?

I think I ran over a chipmunk today. First chipmunk I have ever run over if so (pretty sure it was a chipmunk, was going a bit fast though so may have just been a squirrel)

What should I do when I argue with my coworker about politics?

He's very conservative, and conservatives just rub me the wrong way, mostly just the ultra conservatives. He was taunting me about gun control failing, so I told him Republicans are responsible for those kid's deaths. Democrats may be baby killers for supporting abortion, but Republicans are child killers for not backing gun control.

Anyways we haven't been speaking. And I don't want this feud to endanger my job in any way. Luckily we work different shifts, and I only see him in the morning. I was just wondering, should I apologize? I really don't want to apologize. We have different views on politics, and nothing I say is going to change that. I can't pretend to be a conservative (which is what I did when I worked the same shift as him). I'm not liberal either. I take the good from both sides, and have my own political views that combine the good from all parties. But I do feel the need to stand up strongly for what I believe in. That recent school shooting really affected me for some reason.

Arguing with a co-worker about politics is never a good idea. I recommend either ignoring this guy or just tell him you'd prefer to agree to disagree and just talk about non-political stuff.

Electricity, heating and etc. are also covered by the company. The allowance is just for food, transportation and entertainment.

I'm pretty sure I'll have to use part of my Brazilian salary to get by, as I intend to use the time to do a bit of traveling. Also, while my tastes aren't really expensive, they aren't very inexpensive either. I intend to eat out at least on the weekends, go out drinking at least once a week, etc.

So if this basic allowance will cover my basic expense such as eating at home and transportation, I'll only have to tap into my salary for entertainment, which is good enough I suppose. I'm still a bit skeptic that 20 pounds a day can cover food + bus (and remember I'll have to have lunch out, as I'll be working during lunchtime).

For one, congratulations on your new job and consolations for having to live in Aberdeen for three months . I think £600 allowance/month for those three things will definitely keep you entertained, fed and transported. I think you are overestimating the cost of living in Britain, the further away from London/South East the cheaper it gets. That £600 will get you a long way; i hear pints of beer are still under £3 in some places...
Goodluck :)

Maybe apologize for the choice of words, but not your actual opinion? I mean telling him that Republicans are responsible for these deaths is pretty harsh (so is telling Democrats that they're baby killers for that matter), it might have even offended him personally. I'd just say that you're sorry that things got so heated, and that you respect his opinion but won't change yours, and that it might be better to stop talking about politics.

Ask him to not talk about politics at work. If that doesn't work, as your boss to ask him to not talk about politics at work.
