Yeah, I'm working my way through that stuff.

Or do what I did and muddle your way through an Irish game on Very Easy.

If you're unable to eat very much for a while, can it make your stomach get smaller? Last night I attempted to eat what used to be a normal-sized meal and it was very painful.

I don't know about making your stomach smaller, but this can happen if you don't eat for too long.

Yes, the stomach can get smaller or widen depending on your eating habits (fat people can even get a surgery to make their stomach smaller).
But that takes some time (no idea how much), and I'd guess that this might not apply in your case.

So, to prevent spending $80+ on an appointment that may not be needed, I'll run this through you guys first.

About five months ago, nearly six now, I got a wisdom tooth removed. It sucked, but was alright in the long run. In the past week, I've noticed that the tooth directly above the wisdom tooth removal site is... Well, I'm not sure. It's not in pain, I've really not noticed any difference, but looking at the tooth there seems to be black/brown specks up near the gum and some bright white chunks on the edges that are not food. Brushing heavily on them takes a little bit off, and it seems to be little flakes of tooth, but not.. from that tooth. After some scrubbing, I got one half completely clear and the tooth itself is fine. There's no difference.

Which leads me to the question, "What the hell is this stuff?"

Again, it's not food. It is VERY hard material. It feels about as hard as a tooth but it comes off after some persistence. What's going on?

Got it checked out. As I suspected, it's a side effect from my wisdom tooth extraction back in January and I will need to go regularly back to the hygienist every month for the next three months to make sure everything heals properly.

In other words, $324 of dental costs coming right up!

Yes, it can. This is why some people can eat 2 pizzas and some not even one. The stomach is very adaptable regarding this, so my guess is that if you try again today, the pain is already gone.
Btw. its worth to note that the time it takes for the brain to register that you have "had enough" is longer than we sometimes eat, so you might consider eating slower atleast until the pain is gone.

I was referring to food though. Unless I happen to join the Mars mission I don't think I'll be eating pizza pockets anytime soon. Marie Antoinette herself wouldn't suggest the consumption of that sweet, crappy casing and the allegation that they contain "meat" is spurious at best.

Can someone explain the basics of the medical care in the US.
1) what happens if you are broke and get hit by a truck and need urgent operation? Lets say that you're unconscious so the operations were not your decision.
2) The day after you moved to a new state, it turns out you need a doctors opinion on something non-urgent. What do you do, and will it cost you?

Are you talking today or in a year when the mandate kicks in?

Sorry for "blocking" Muhammed, but did Ron Paul name his child after Ayn Rand?

No he did not. Ron et wife have said they didn't even know who Ayn Rand was when they decided to name their child Randal

Besides, for all her faults, Ayn Rand wouldn't countenance the sort of unprovoked aggression inherit in naming a child "Randal".

Ron is a cool guy. Maybe he just thought Clerks rocks?

Question computer nerds and I bet this one has you stumped. Why would my i pad specifically hate the acoustic/folk thread in A and E such that whenever I try to post it gets half way through loading the page, has a little tantrum, crashes and goes back to my home screen (not CFC home screen, the pad's)?

Traitorfish, sorry for being an ignorant know-nothing, but how does a "strongman" differ from a dictator? (If this question seems smug and ironic, know that it is not)

"Dictator" implies a level of exceptional personal authority which is not associated with the more general category of "strongman". Strongmen are usually the leading figures of a particular clique or complex, distinguished by seniority more than anything else, while dictators stand alone and apart from all subordinates, or at least as part of a narrowly-defined junta.

All dictators are strongmen, and most dictators begin as non-dictatorial strongmen, gradually accumulating more personal power over time. Stalin, for example, can't really be seen as a dictator until the purges of the late '30s, before which he was too heavily reliant on a particular network of allies within the Communist Party leadership to act with true independence. Significantly, strongmen may operate within at least formally democratic political systems, the standard example here being Vladimir Putin, while dictators must by definition be capable of exceeding any democratic limits.

(Interestingly, some scholars allow for the possibility of a "constitutional dictator", in which the dictator wields unmoderated personal power, but within a constitutional framework. Generally, this is a temporary phenomenon, existing during a particular crisis or emergency- an extreme form of the sort of extraordinary powers wielded by, e.g. Lincoln during the Civil War - but some argue that it can become a stable form of government in its own right.)
