I'll never give up my C3C! :old:
You are a pitiful, isolated individual! You are bankrupt. Your role is played out. Go where you belong from now on - into the dustbin of history!

Thank you for the answers.

Another, completely unrelated, question: how feasible would it have been to establish a permanent military/naval base along the Antarctic coast around 1950?

The United States officially opened its first station at McMurdo on Feb. 16, 1956. Founders initially called the station Naval Air Facility McMurdo. On Nov. 28, 1957, Admiral George J. Dufek was present with a U.S. congressional delegation during a change of command ceremony.

Sure, it's not really a military base, but it was done in the fifties. I don't think we would have had too much trouble (beyond diplomatic issues) putting an actual military base there.

something with an accident and the gas in the mask being life supporting or something

IIRC it was something like morphine to mask the constant pain he was in due to that accident.

Does anyone have any idea where I might be able to find technical specifications for various schrader valves?

I need to install a schrader valve onto a tank filled with r134a - I know plenty of these valves exist as they are quite common in automotive A/C systems. However, I cannot find any information on what temperatures and pressures they will work over. It's extremely frustrating, I can buy/install a valve until I know it's not going to blow up on orbit but no one who sells these valves post any information on their specifications - I can't even find CAD drawings or physical dimensions!

Have you tried speaking directly to the companies? I'm in hydraulics not spacecraft, but when I have a query about the performance of a valve or pipe or whatever, I ring up the manufacturers.

I have tried and none of the companies have help lines. I'm extremely limited in who I can contact in an official capacity. An instant-message live chat is fine, but emails are usually no-go's.

I would think the companies selling them would provide the specs. After all, that's information that their customers need.

I would like to add to my (admittedly limited) knowledge of economics. I do not have the time, however, to immerse myself in a university course, even online, to do so. What sources should I turn to to gain the same sort of knowledge a person with a Bachelor of Economics would have? I don't just mean what books should I read, but the general order I should read them in, what journals I should look at, etc..

Oh. I'll get it then (ignorant as I am about economics). But one review said it wasn't really a beginner's book.

Thanks. That was the first site I found when I started looking but they are extremely sparse with the tech specs. After you posted the link, I went back and dug more and finally found specs in their catalog - they present them in the most user-unfriendly format.

You can also call or email these companies if their websites are not informative enough.

Like I said before, most times I'm not allowed to do that without getting pre-clearance.

Are there any image(-sharing) hosts left that allow me to upload infinite (preferrably large) pics as a registered user *AND* is not one of those asinine "freemiums" that force me to send my hard-earned cash just to be able to upload and store more than x number of images?
