Well, you could always expand upon the good (well, some say it no longer is good. Or a tradition) old tradition of, like, making sure they don't know a thing after?

Are you suggesting extra-strong raki or a killing spree? Or both?

No, I was suggesting to drink under women and then having sex with them while they're unconscious.

Unfortunately, during my attempt to make it not sound like that, I got tangled up. I guess I should have went with total honesty and said "Date rape", and nothing else, presumably while awaiting my infraction.

Does the British military struggle to recruit enough of the right people? They always seem to be advertising "search 'made in the royal navy'" or something similar.

Do other nations advertise on TV to recruit for their armed forces?

Those are wannabe-Marines, aren't they?

Wanna-be or not, at least they're citizens! You know why? Because service guarantees citizenship.

That movie would be the worst example of a film butchering the source book that I've ever seen but for the fact that the two have so little in common it is a stretch to consider the book to actually be the source material.

Actually, I would give Battlefield Earth that honor. Thing with troopers is that the movie is glorious anyway. Battlefield Earth (the movie) sucked, except for a few choice scenes.

Germany and the Netherlands do.
The focus seems to be different though. In the Dutch commercials it's more about the helping/defending aspect, in the German commercials it's more about career.

The Dutch put most of the army advertising for the Air Force and Navy, from what I've seen, although recently they've also started to crank up the adverts for a career aspect. Electrician? Work with the Ministry of Defense! IT specialist? Work with the Ministry of Defense!

I can see that. Have avoided Battlefield Earth the movie. Plus, while fun, that book probably isn't anywhere near as good as Heinlein once he sunk his teeth into a cool idea and started running with it.

It actually wasn't, originally. The script was originally written under the working title "bug hunt", and it's only when they noticed the similarity in premise that they bought the rights and changed a bunch of names to match the book.

When did they decide to make it a parody of fascistesque propaganda?

Which of the people who responded here are actually Muslim? Just curious.
