Every time I try to upload a video on my phone to Youtube, it says 'transfer failed.' Every time I try send it to myself via email, it says that you can't attach more than 20 mg. It's like ten seconds long.

If you have an Nvidia card, yeah. I was ready to panic when it happened to me but turns out it's a somewhat common issue with them.
So, a/the solution would be…?

(I'm doing an online search anyway, but I'd like to hear from somebody who's actually had that problem already)

Completely uninstall the drivers and then install the latest one. Key part of that is "completely uninstall".

I've checked and it's a Radeon. Would the same solution apply?

Tak.

Make sure that your monitor cables are tight. Also, use a program like HWMonitor (or whatever the Linux equivalent is if you are using Linux - I think you are right?) and monitor the temperature of your graphics card. If it goes over 60C the card may shut down the screen to cool off. Radeon's are notorious for not running their fans fast enough when the fan is set to auto. You may have to set the fan manually in the Radeon control panel. I have mine set for 65% and it seems to do just nicely.

Try that and see what happens.

Does it only go completely black or does the screen sometimes tear? If you are getting any screen tearing or weird colors the card may be dying. Just black it's probably overheating or driver issue.

I'm not sure what you mean by ‘tear’.

btw the screen goes black but it doesn't switch off; the power light is still on and I have to turn it off back on myself.

Found this definition:
Screen tearing is an effect that occurs on a video source where 2 frames of video are shown together in a single frame causing a torn effect.
Nah, it's just the screen going black. I'll check the drivers first.

And I know about the weird colours; it happened to my last card some years ago. Not this time, at all.

tearing is like lines across the screen cus the frames are getting jumbled. It means your card is unable to maintain fps which means it's probably failing, or you don't have vsync going meaning it's rendering much faster than your monitor's refresh rate and you aren't syncing it.

Yes, yes, I already found that out.

Crucially, when I ran Linux 18 rather than 17 (from a USB drive) I never got any screen issues, so I guess I'd better set apart a couple days now during term and do the whole system update.

You evidently have basic language comprehension issues.

Practical examples:
downgrade= vBulletin → Xenforo
(re)upgrade= Xenforo → vBulletin

Honey, you've got a storm coming if you think the new vBulletin is better than Xenforo.

I'm glad that you acknowledge my sweetness, but I meant our older vBulletin.

Dangit, why did AtomicGamer have to die on us?

Now why would I do such an awful thing?
