My google-fu has failed me today. I was on a couple sites that describe various iPhone icons, and that one was not on any of them. I tried to describe the icon to google, and nothing came up either. I assumed it was a new icon that got rolled out with the new OS

They are still businesses that care about making money, and right now they are wasting money on a product that isn't doing what it is advertised to do. If I were a shareholder or investor in one of these video game companies, I'd be pretty upset over that.
 
That would require shareholders to actually understand what is going on and not react solely based on what generates them more profit (or occasionally less negative publicity).
 
Is there a reason that American news outlets often use "lawmaker" instead of "legislator"? It feels like they're talking down to their audience, but they also use "legislative" rather than "law-making", so is it just a stylistic choice?

Fairly certain it's just common usage at this point. Our media are very much creatures of habit.
