See I was going to say just fill the vodka bottle up with water when you're done. It's not a permanent solution but it puts the problem off for a while.

Well please do remember I only drank 2 ounces at a time throughout the day, just to soothe my poor throat.

... plus I think men just have weak constitutions :P

Yeah that makes it different.

Let me assure you that 1) at the peak of my drinking I could keep up with you easily, but I've really cut down on drinking and my tolerance is very low nowadays, and 2) if we had a bong hit contest I would win ;)

I did the same thing to medicate my undiagnosed PTSD! :D

o lawd she comin

yeah I basically stopped binging after one night when it took me literally 45 minutes to find where I'd locked my bike and then I vomited three times when i got home and now I don't drink much at all.

Ohhhh see I only ever really drink at home (or at a family member's house), so I don't end up in situations like you did. My problem was going to Meijer and buying 30 liters of wine and drinking every single night.

Depression and drinking went hand in hand for me until I realized it was making the depression much worse overall. One of my favorite descriptions of what a heavy drinking session is like is that it's as if you distilled all of next week's happiness into one bottle and drank it all at once. Sure, you feel fantastic that night but the entire rest of the week is horrible, long after the physical hangover has passed.

"Don't worry, I was only drinking doubles" is something I'd expect to hear from a weather-beaten old sea captain!

Oh dear, no don't worry, there was only about a quarter of the bottle left!

haha, and @rah he chose hidden option #3: he stopped off on his way home and got me some wine, because he knows that helps me feel better when I'm sick XD
I'd think that chicken soup would be a better choice, but that's just me... (actually, when I have a cold, I like to order won ton soup and pork dumplings from my favorite Chinese restaurant; the sauce that comes with the dumplings is great for the sinuses).

Or a Canadian, if they were drinking double-doubles. :mischief:
There's a difference between coffee and vodka (not that I drink either of them).

I have a cold and had about six cups of tea yesterday to keep me going.

So, I was watching Ohio State trounce Nebraska Saturday, and I noticed something. I saw two players (Quarteback Fields and Cornerback Okudah) on the same team in the same game wearing the same number{#1). Anybody know when this became allowable?

The rule is teams can't have players with the same number on the field at the same time. So since the quarterback is on offense and cornerbacks are on defense there isn't any issue. As to when this rule came into effect, I don't know the specific year or anything. Probably when teams started having >100 players since triple digit numbers aren't allowed.

A couple of questions about snakes:

1) Snakes' hearing is a lot more powerful than a human's, correct? Going by some articles it seems they hear picking up vibrations from the ground, with their actual ears being internal organs. Does this mean that a snake when upright (in some kind of defensive/threat pose) will have less ability to hear?
2) Some types of snakes seem to have the ability to pick up the heat emanating from other creatures nearby, a kind of body heat-sensor. Are vipers one such snake? (mostly thinking of common mountain vipers).

Pit vipers are so-named because they have an organ that senses heat. Is that what you were looking for?

(We don't have any in Australia - they're a bit wussy to survive here.)
