To UFS
From CLS
The UFS is in no place to dictate whom the CLS negotiates with. The fact that you call yourselves the "Greatest Republic in the World" is laughable, and an insult to all true republican governments in the world today. A true Republic would not see its entire legislative body murdered by the executive. The UFS resembles more of a autocratic dictatorship than a true republic. Save your rhetoric on democracy and liberty for someone more naive.
To Andalusia
From CLS
To clear up some confusion, we would just like to remind the Andalusian government that the CLS is a organization against the lack of a democratically-elected government to represent our people. When whole legislative bodies are murdered at the order of one man, there is no democracy. We ask that you re-evaluate the situation and come to the correct conclusion: the UFS is nothing but a manikin to hide the dictatorship of the presidency. According to your own philosophy, the CLS is more akin to the revolutionaries of 1776 than the UFS...for we are the ones fighting for justice, for representation, and for freedom.
From: Andalusia
To: UFS, CLS
Well, it's certain that we lacked information regards the reasons why the CLS decided to segregate, as few people have been able to travel through the whole former UFS due to not having enough money or preferring to travel to other places, and even fewer that work in the Government. Our ambassador to Washington D.C. certainly didn't know what was the situation in the southern states as he tends to stay in the capital, and the consuls in Bogotá and Havana have been severely reprimanded for not providing the information regarding the enfranchisement of the people before.
President Reagan: while you weren't part of the Government when the UFS was formed, I think that President Jasón of the CLS is right, at least in the part regarding the fact that voting rights are only conceded to those able to speak in English. I am quite sure that, should you go to New York, there would be several hundreds of people who don't have much ability when talking in English and yet they can vote. And as for the accusations of forcing your culture onto the Southerns would be much like if Québecois culture was forced on your native California. You wouldn't have liked it, no? Right now, I understand the reason why the CLS has seceded, but not the reason why you have decided to go on full-out war against them.
President Jasón: it's now that I understand the plight your people had been put through before your secession. However, secession wasn't the only way you could have gotten what you wanted: you could have filed a protest in the Congress (considering that you would make up a 20% of the population, said protests would have been heard, unless I am mistaken), you could have arranged manifestations against the law that forced knowledge of English as one of the requirements to be able to vote, the southern states could have put through a state law that helped the teaching of the local culture to be considered at the same level or over the English culture... and much more. (OOC: Who was the one to declare war on the other, anyway?) And even if war was unstoppable, I think that the way you seem to be going, after asking for help to the Communist dictatorships around the world, will assure that your own country becomes something even worse than what you separated from.
With all of this, I am sure that you will be saying that we could hardly know anything about rights when we are an actual dictatorship, but...
Anyway, in the end, I will just say that I, our country and the whole world hope that you stop warring each other and reach a peaceful agreement, be it for re-integration into the UFS provided certain laws change or for complete separation between the two nations. In either case, Andalusia offers its soil as a place to hold the peace conversations.
Yours faithfully,
General Manuel Arquillo
Chief of the Andalusian State
OOC: TLJ, I hope that you don't get angry and cancel the trade agreement I had proposed before, I was just pointing out the possibilities the conflict between UFS and CLS could have gone to without going to war. Also, any word on the returning of the Canaries Islands to Andalusia?
@EQ: I know that I won't be able to ever get it, but... which technology do you have to research in order to get the Daly-Class CV?
