Second Council of Nations Formed: In Recife, Brazil the Second Council of Nations will convene to try and sort out all the problems of the world. And by the looks of 1982 they have their work cut out for them.
African Turmoil: From War in West Africa and Terrorism in East Africa all the way to Civil War in South Africa. The continent has been thrown into turmoil that may soon engulf the other nations on the continent.
NORTH AMERICAN NEWS REPORT
SPOTLIGHT: UFS-CLS War.
MEXICAN OFFENSIVE:
CLS Forces have moved forward towards the Rio Grande however a revitalized and determined UFS has come strong to defend the original border between the U.S.A. and Mexico. Elements of the CLS and UFS air forces clashed over the eastern front. The UFS having air superiority did much damage to the CLS Air Force. After gaining Air superiority the UFS Close Combat Aircraft ravaged the front columns of Armored Troops before being forced to retreat by the arrival of the rest of the CLS forces from the West and South.
CASUALTIES:
UFS: 10 Infantry Brigades, 5 Armored Brigades, 5 Fighter Wings, 3 CAS Wings
CLS: 15 Infantry Brigades, 15 Armored Brigades, 4 Fighter Wings, 1 CAS Wing
On the Western Front the CLS have made greater gains through the Sonora and Western Chihuahua deserts towards California, Arizona and New Mexico. However to stop a defeat in the East the push was cut short.

CLS: None
CUBAN DEFENSE:
On Cuba the war has turned into a two front war with each side focusing on both. In the west CLS Forces have landed South West of Havana in the Pinar Del Rio area. However the landing was met with large resistance from Western Cuban UFS troops. The Pope has refused to leave Havana stating that the people of Havana need faith in this troubling time.
CASUALTIES:
UFS: 4 Infantry Brigades, 1 Armored Brigade
CLS: 10 Infantry Brigades, 12 Marine Brigades, 4 Mountain Brigades 3 Armored Brigades
Chile: 5 Infantry Brigades
In the east CLS forces have used Guantanamo Bay as a refueling station for a naval altercation North East of the Coastal towns of Moa and Baracoa. The CLS using this battle to their advantage seized the town of Moa and are primed to defeat the UFS in Baracoa. If the UFS lose the eastern city of Baracoa it could lead to disaster for the military campaign in East Cuba.

CLS: 5 Infantry Brigades, 2 Marine Brigades 1 Armored Brigade
The Naval battle orchestrated by the CLS forces to take Moa took place on the North East Coast of Cuba. While outside PTOM Missile Range the UFS were able to gain the upper hand against the CLS Submarine attack with both Naval and Air Force Superiority. However the attack was successful in its major priority to create a diversion for the attack on Moa.

CLS: 18 SSNs, 1 SSBN
HISPANIOLO Re-INVASION
After early victories by the UFS in Hispaniolo the CLS were successful in taking a beachhead with no Naval Casualties at Santo Domingo and pushing interior with their forces. Strongly supplied UFS soldiers stopped the CLS Forces near the center of the Island.
CASUALTIES:
UFS: 2 Infantry Brigades.
CLS: 5 Marine Brigades, 2 Armored Brigades
Notes: UFS Special Forces have disrupted much of the Mexican supply lines. This has not affected the CLS offensive greatly this year however if these attacks are not stopped the effects of the UFS actions will be felt in the northern battlefields.
Lockheed Found Innocent: After lengthy appeals leading up to the Supreme Court the CEO of Lockheed Aerodynamics was found Not Guilty on charges of treason against the UFS. However after the trial Congress passed legislation banning the sale of technology to foreign powers by American Companies.

Terror Continues in Germania: Early this year acts of terror have caused the deaths of many Germanian citizens. Once again ethnic Germans were targeted but other ethnicities have died as caused by the random bombings and hostile takeovers. Due to increased security the intensity of attacks like in 1981 have been stalled.
Germania Strikes Back: Through intelligence German officials have helped foiled some of the would be devastating terror attacks. In early September terrorists attempting to hijack planes out of France and Poland were captured. In response German S.S. forces in Paris struck many terrorist centers of activity. Thus crippling the Parisian cells for the time being. Germanian forces have placed Paris on lockdown forcing European terrorists to focus elsewhere while S.S. forces capture or eliminate cells in Paris.

AFRICA NEWS REPORT
Turmoil and War in Liberia: Because of the Free Africa Party Successes in South Africa protests and riots have erupted via funding in Liberia. Ethnic Mexicans have used this to their advantage to rise up against the Liberian government. The Mexican Free State has used this as a casus belli for a military invasion of Liberia. New Zion and the West African Union have condemned the invasion and have threatened military intervention if the invasion is not halted. Liberian forces slowed Mexican Free State Forces but analysts say that if intervention does not come on the side of Liberia a MFS victory is assured.

Turmoil in South Africa: This year four groups declared independence from the racist Conservative Party of South Africa. Blacks in Madagascar led by Nelson Mandela and other Free Africa Party leaders and funders declared the independence of The African Republic of Madagascar. On the Cape the Zulu Nation has emerged led by King Goodwill Zwelithini. On the west coast General Fernando Antonio Cabral has led his dissenting draftees to victory over local forces to establish their own Military state of Namibia. Communist funded rebels have also sprung up during the turmoil in the east to establish the Socialist State of Africa. Meanwhile the remnants of the Conservative Party have rallied in the capital of Pretoria reestablishing the Boer Republic while conserving a Naval base in Northern Madagascar. Battle has been slow to ramp up however military analysts predict this to be the bloodiest conflict in the continents history.
Terrorist activity in Somalia: Somalian terrorists have been reported attempting pirate activity against Dar Al Islam Oil Tankers and traders. However D-A-I and Somalia have agreed on a stance against terrorism and worked together to prevent any large loss of product.
MIDDLE EAST/ASIA NEWS REPORT
Formation of Israel and Borneo Slated for 1983: Dar-Al-Islam and Nippon successfully negotiate terms on the formation of two new governments of Israel and Borneo. Early this year successful negotiation led to the two nations acceptance of ceding lands to form the nations. In 1983 Brazil and Vietnam will oversee the successful transition of the Israel and Borneo governments into office and to hold elections.
Terrorism in Borneo: Despite news of the creation of the Republic of Borneo terrorists have struck in Balikpapan. Hundreds were injured in an attack that many blame on the Brotherhood of Islam. Despite the attacks the Republic still plans on its formation in 1983.
Brotherhood of Islam Targets Dar-Al-Islam and Turan Ummah: Late this year Brotherhood of Islam leader Umar al-Tilmisani declared that Dar al Islam and Turan Ummah were both untrue Muslim nations and non-believers. Muslims of Dar-Al-Islam and Turan Ummah have condemned these news broadcast and are searching out Brotherhood enclaves in search of justice.

HyICE makes breakthrough in Germania, and other corporations: Experts close to this technological breakthrough and willing to speak to the press say that the new Hydrogen powered ICE technology will be one of the greatest breakthroughs of the decade. Those also willing to speak hinted at the ongoing research into more and better uses of Fuel Cell technology.

Oslo-Bergen has merged with Engineering corporation BauHaus. The New Company lead by executives of both companies is now known as Norsk Industries. The new conglomerate has begun creation of new factories and business ventures in other European nations most notable: Andalusia and Scandinavia.
