Then there's this weird looking thing in Milan

This is the new City Hall.

There is hard to get a good picture of it to show its ugliness. Most of its ugliness comes from recent installments of these barricades to prevent cars from moving. So the front lawn looks like a warzone now because of the barricades ><

Apparently this is a hospital somewhere near or in Aachen, Germany

The sheep make it look like a bad 80s sci-fi movie for some reason

edit: Apparently it looks like this inside:

Aachen_klinikum_innen.jpg

It's like they hired robots to design the building and then Picasso threw up on the inside

It's totally n ot worthy of Picasso, but I don't know of any other cubists

I'd be surprised if any of the patients do not have head-splitting headaches 24/7

Looks more like a missile launch site to me.

Giant fish-lion statue building thing.

I.M. Pei, but a concrete building that looks like a calculator can't be anything but ugly.

Something on campus.

Londoners voted St Pancras International their favourite building. Pub trivia - on completion (c. 1870ish) it was the tallest commercial building in the world.

It's not ugly.

Opposite is Camden town hall, a dignified if uninspiring example of neo-classical municipal victoriana.

And next to these two is a third building. An extension to the town hall. An extension that some cynics might note was built to house the planning department.

That 2nd last building just looks awful. One way to destroy the soul of a people is to build monstrosities like that.

This is how ugly commie high-rise buildings look like:

I don't see anything wrong with these buildings... can you elaborate on why you think they are ugly and what their function was? If they're apartments, then they certainly aren't very attractive, but they're not bad as far as office buildings go.

It was built by communists.

This one is nice. Try scrolling with your mouse wheel up and down and look at the image. I noticed their genius use of shades of gray.
It poops out at you.
I don't know if it was intentional though, if it was accidental, then the building and architects are terrible people.

Eh, I guess "boring" is an extremely bad quality for some.

Theres lots of ugly buildings in Dublin, but if I'm going for unique ugly I would big the Met Eireann ziggaurat:

I think I posted it up here before in a similar thread, but I pass it every day so its synonymous with architectural ugliness to me. Wish I could find a better picture.

I think we have had this thread before? Im moaning about the Camden planning extention, your winging about the borg cube... Seems familiar.

Seems to me some of you don't like modern architecture. I, for one, am quite fond of F.O.Gehry and Renzo Piano (Centre Pompidou) as well as other post-modernist architects.

Yep. We need new thread ideas here badly. :(
