There's your twenty percent.

No, but if 50 million people said this, I would wonder why and not just say "Oh, they're just being stupid." HOWEVER, since this isn't even possible, that many people won't accept it.

Did you look at the numbers in the OP? If the poll is correct, and we assume it represents the U.S. population as a whole, that means 25% of the country are birthers, and thus 76 million people believe something that is objectively false!

You can't assume the masses are infallible, particularly when you have media outlets propagating a Big Lie.

The masses aren't infallible, but its unlikely 50 million people would believe something that's proven false. And note, proven false and not proven true are not the same thing.

Obama was probably born in the US, but you can't assume everyone who disagrees is stupid.

Did you even bother to look at his birth certificate?

But 50% of the population by definition have below average intelligence.

You mean the one printed in 2007 by the government of Hawaii under Democratic control? Cuz nobody has ever seen his original.

P.S. - Not a birther

No, I can assume a minority is a group of political operators trying to manipulate a whole bunch of sheeple into believing extremely idiotic stuff to get the to vote on some herd instinct.
It definitely could have been forged or faked. I'm not saying that's what happened, but you don't know for sure.
Oh stop insisting on that! It's a certificate issued even before Obama was President! If you're the one bloke who goes on textwall rants on the supremacy of state governments, then you can go no higher than the state of hawaii to prove it.

It definitely could have been forged or faked. I'm not saying that's what happened, but you don't know for sure.

How about you show some evidence that it was fake. If you can not find any evidence that it was fake and that all the evidence points to that it was real then we have to say its real.

Also the OP should be given its own thread, locked, and stickyed for being so well done. Good job pizzaguy, have million pizzaguy dollars on me

Obama was probably born in the US, but you can't assume everyone who disagrees is stupid.

Except Obama was born in the U.S. In Honolulu, on August 4th, 1961. We know that, because that's what his birth certificate says, and there is absolutely no credible evidence to suggest it is false. None. People who refuse to acknowledge this are being intellectually dishonest for political gain, and I have no issue with calling such a person stupid.

Given the evidence we have, saying Obama wasn't born in the U.S. is much like going to somebodies house, petting their cat, watching the cat lap milk from a saucer, give birth to other cats, groom itself, and then proclaiming 'we simply can't be sure it's not a dog in disguise'.

I not think so bad about Obama, and I am Pole.

They were Republican?? Okay, mea culpa there big time!

The governor was Republican. The legislatures saw huge Democratic super-majorities.

But the administration of Hawaii at the time was Republican. And that falls under their jurisdiction. I forget the officer in charge of records. But you still can't claim that a Democrat could have manipulated the birth records.

Obama was born in th US. There is no credible evidence to suggest otherwise. Believing things without credible evidence is, IMO, stupid.

The belief that Obama is a muslim/nonamerican/antichrist is as credible and well supported as belief in the following:
UFO abduction
Bigfoot
Antivax
Homeopathy
Dowsing
Ghosts
Scientology
Moon Landing denial
9/11 Truth
and the list could go on forever. Humans believe stupid things.

I think 50 million people have believed in lots of demonstratedly false things, as this thread has tried to point out.

There no such stupidity or rather poverty as ignorance perhaps. Those people must be ignorant if they ignore the facts... but...

The belief that Obama is a muslim/nonamerican/antichrist is as credible and well supported as belief in the following:

Some may say that Obama is atrocity anyway.

UFO abduction

I will more believe in UFO, then that there is any GOD.

I had to google, and still have no idea what is that.

Scientology

Explain what you mean by that?

Moon Landing denial

There are some facts, that may make someone think so.

9/11 Truth

Same there, some people just always searching for the truth.

and the list could go on forever. Humans believe stupid things.

Like in god?

Sorry, but I really not believe in God Domination. As I know there is no God. And-I-Do-Not-Said-It-Is-stupid-It-was-a-question. But explain me why believing in aliens or scientology are more stupid by him. And why he not include God on the list. I just say that any believes not supported by sure or knowledge are stupid. If you say "I know there is a God" -> This is smart. If you say "I believe there is something (God, or aliens for example) --> It is stupid, because believing is stupid as action/activity.
