Third Presidential Debate

Obama so wins this debate.

Not quite. McCain had a major major slip on healthcare, but he was strong other places. I think when he was on his game, he did his best, but when he slipped, he slipped worse than he has.

Doesn't matter. McCain needed a home run, not an ambiguous wash.

What do you expect from the CFC forums, its like overwhelmingly liberal.

So you'll defer to the undecided focus groups after this is over? :mischief:

Either slight Obama win or wash. Either way, bad for McCain. Waiting for the insta-polls. If they say what they did in the first two debates, bad for McCain.

It was McCain's best performance, but not necessarily good.

Why? He has done nothing to make you bitter or angry. Al Qaeda and some bad decisions plagued an otherwise great presidency. He never cheated on his wife while on our payroll.

um, he has a bazillion scandals linked to him. he ruined this country's foreign standing. he got us involved in a useless war that has cost us billions. he has further increased our deficit (as if reagan didn't damage enough). he has systematically taken away our rights in order to fight terror. so on and so forth. horrible president.

OH NOES BILL CLINTON GOT HIS PEE PEE SUCKED

i'd rather have that than george bush. kthxbai.

This is a defeat for McCain. Did McCain just say he wants to allow teachers to teach without certification or approval if they've served in the military??? Wow...

Did Obama just say he would use 640k acres of land to get us off middle eastern oil? Yeah, he has no idea.

Yes I would rather have my peepee sucked than Bush.

Invaded Iraq for no reasons other than lies and misinformation (First it was links to Al Qaeda, then it was Saddam had WMDs, then it was bringing Democracy to Iraq).

Invaded our civil liberties.

Sent the economy of this nation into a downward spiral to a Second Great Depression.

Sarah Palin will win the War on Autism!

McCain just snorted in his laugh :(

Bush didn't send us into a great depression, things put into motion by Bill Clinton and before him did. Bush is no destroyer of economies and the war in Iraq is relatively cheap in comparison to some of the crap being suggested right now. He didn't invade anyone's civil liberties, only people who were security threats. Stop buying all of that liberal hogwash for a minute and understand the world.

EDIT: So Saddam was a better leader? He killed hundreds of thousands of people and was a rouge dictator. He was a mini Hitler and you complain about us taking him out of power.

I-row-knee.

McCain crushed Obama on education, not to mention lieing about the voucher data. The data clearly supports voucher and charter programs. It was a great finish for McCain.

You're aware that a great deal of the reason for the coming economic crisis is due to the waste (and high energy prices) caused by the Iraq War, right?

Moose

No, Bush's admin is responsible for this economic decline. Clinton left office with a budget surplus. You can't pin an economic situation 8 years out on the preceding admin. The recession Clinton was responsible for was that bit of a dip before 9/11. We came out of that and had growth, but irresponsible growth

well, Obama wins easy on the technical points and I'd give Obama the win overall but McCain did well enough considering his age. Must be tough going up against a younger man with a good head on his shoulders.

McCain did a lot better than he did previously but not good enough. Obama won on healtchare, and he refuted that Ayers and ACRON thing strongly. Tax cuts they rehashed the same old stuff. Obama sounded more convincing on education, but I don't know if what McCain said about vouches and such is true perhaps it is.

Overall I'd say both did pretty well. No clear winner here. So McCain loses since he needed to crush Obama and he didn't manage it. In the polls its hard to tell there might be a bit of fluctuation but no significant change I think.

Mccain actually seemed like he wanted to be president not to the old folks home like during the second one... I would say Mccain won as he accomplished everything he tried too his only loss was on health care. great moderator/questions too!

This is already the case. Many retired military members have years of duty at training venues of all types that would put your average college classroom to shame. If you have NEC or whatever other services call it that are equivalent, you don't need to go for the civilian qualification. This is true for any number of civilian professional qualifications. Case in point, I work at a command that has over 200 instuctors qualified to teach nuclear theory and engineering to both ratings and officers held to standards you could not dream of, any highschool would be blessed to have any one of them on staff.

Think of it as a CLEP program.

The current economic problems do not have one damn thing to go with Iraq, and the price of oil has nothing to do with it either.

Obama got crushed on education, as you would know if you were informed on vouchers and charter schools. Obama basically said nothing more substatial than "more money."
