I'm sorry, but that isn't the attitude I'd expect from someone I should respect.

You guys don't know how much I dislike closing threads. I consider closed threads an eyesore and try to avoid closing threads as much as possible and also tell mods not to close threads unless it's really necessary.

Since when have you ever shown any respect for authority Ohwell?

Have I lost any respect? Did I have any to begin with? Respect being an abstract topic, I really can't notice it. I personally feel that respect should be earned or lost, not a given. This is actually the way in which we judge others in real life; why not do so here?Originally posted by Alcibiaties of Athenae
Works both ways, I start out respecting you, you lose it through actions.
Moderator Action: There is no such thing as banning of moderators.

Believe it or not, you don't have to be a mod to understand what gonzo said here. As a mod, I have gained a lot more insight into this, but the fact that I understood it already probably helped TF decide to make me a mod.Originally posted by gonzo_for_civ
You can earn and lose respect, but by showing yourself even once as a decent human being the mods can generally get a good sense of how deserving you are of respect and if don't cause problems that respect remains.
As soon as you start causing problems, you lose a lot of respect, for MANY connected reasons, including the fact that no mods enjoy babysitting, and don't respect those who require constant babysitting.
