The Military Head Quarters in Maracaibo was an Imposing structure. It took the form of a great cathedral and served both as a Command Post and a place where Kane could be worshiped. Above the large wooden doors was carved a dark motto "We Must Dissent". And underneath was carved a name " - Sister Miriam Godwinson". The quote came from one of the pillars of Kane's preaching in Gran Columbia. The sister was an inspiration to all and the force behind the construction of many of the cathedrals that littered the nation.
Once through the grand doorways one would be presented with the vastness of the complex. The floor was a brilliant tilled pattern and the walls a dark granite, the eastern wall was comprised of a single, massive, red stained glass window divided up by an intricate lattice of black metal, the ceiling rose hundreds of meters up into the sky and metal walkways, staircases and small rooms crisscrossed the view. These walkways connected the many offices that were carved into the granite walls. These rooms of solid rock housed the elite of Gran Columbia's Military and Governing bodies. It was in these tombs of stone that policy and war plans were made alike while underneath them in the massive space Brothers and Sisters preached the good word of Kane.
In one of these rooms housed so lovingly in the stone walls three men sat around a table that was covered in maps and plans of the Caribbean. The man seemed to be awfully bothered about something and from the looks of the maps you could see why.
Depicted on them was the two major powers in the region - Themselves and the GDI Central American Task force. While the Puanarianists held onto the coast of south America the GDI occupied the majority of Mexico. Thankfully they were protected from a land assault by Panama - an area which had completely succumbed to the growth of Tiberium and any commander wanting to pass through that area would be a fool.
This left them with their current dilemma for if you can't attack by land then the logical choice is the sea.
"Look, I know that it would have its uses but we can't overextend ourselves." The voice was Spanish with a noticeable Venezuelan influence. It came from Emmanuel
Hernandez, the leader of the Gran Colombian's extensive militia. "The Brotherhood is not as unified as it once was, if anything we should stay as we are and prepare to meet the GDI when they come to us."
The other two men were Benedict Tiberius Greene and Captain Luke Gallagher; the first being Supreme commander of Nod military activity in the area, and the second head of the Brotherhood Admiralty in the Caribbean. Benedict was a broad man with wide shoulders but Gallagher was larger still and towered above the other two.
"We need a new base," This was Gallagher's voice "Or else we wont be able to properly defend against the inevitable GDI attack from Mexico."
"It's neither of your decisions to make my friends." Benedict now spoke "And personally I think its been a long time since we last went down to the club... I'm going for Havana."
After some other matters had been settled the meeting was closed and Benedict set off across the metal walkways. He had never been to comfortable on them as he wasn't altogether happy with heights and so when he did cross them he always tried to make himself not look down... And he always failed. Every now and again he would glance down into the vast pit of the Cathedral and feel a wave of nausea come across him.
So today as always he tried to cross as quickly as possible. He marched across the walkway to a door in the granite wall across the building from him, he passed many colleges also doing their business - delivering files or documents, stopping off at the suspended offices, chatting with other adjudants and secretaries.
Benedict quickly reached the office he wanted and entered without knocking - as he was always welcome in that office he saw no reason to - He opened the door only to see his trusted friend Tom embraced with the cultural minister in a passionate kiss; which was quite unexpected considering that they were both two of the shyest people who worked in the cathedral.
He quickly closed the door.
Since Tom was "Not available" he decided the next best thing would be to discus matters with Mr. Krug who would undoubtedly be sitting in the large room which housed the Cathedral's great organ. Krug had made an office their next to it and also went to great lengths to ensure he was the only one who got to play it. When Benedict reached the organ room he found Krug in one of his irritable moods.
So he went and hurried back to his own office and sat down at his cluttered desk. He sighed a long sigh...
Everyone seemed so busy - why did they never have time to just hear of his plans for a night at their old Havana club...
