If any of you fine people have watched Brainiac: Science Abuse, you'll know what I'm on about. If you haven't, let me explain. 'Tickle's Teasers' is where Jon Tickle, a former Big Brother contestent comes up with funny 'riddles' about things. For example, here is one.

'Here's one for you, do fish get thirsty?'

And another;

'Heres one for you, if a car is travveling at the speed of light, and the lights on the car are switched on, what would happen?'

If you have seen them, tell us what you think of them and post some of your own!

I have. Its a dumbed-down mythbusters. In my opinion.

wouldn't the light be relative to your perspective. it would look normal to you but to people not travelling at the same speed it would *brain melts*

It's a trick question: a car cannot go the speed of light. The wires, batteries, etc. would not go that fast.

The 'white' becomes the colour of whatever is below the water.

I've got one: is humanty smart enough to invent a computer that's smarter than humanity?

lol. To a stationary observer the light would not appear to move away from the car at all. To the occupant of the car there would be no time to make measurements in - infinite time dilation.

However, it is better to imagine the car travelling at slightly less than ls - in which case the light would indeed be moving faster. (Technically it would take an infinite amount of energy to accelerate a massive object such as a car to 100% ls). In this case...

To someone in the car it would appear to move away from the car at light speed.

To someone outside the car it would appear to move slightly faster than the car.

Someone here has this as a signature:

Do infants enjoy infancy as much as adults enjoy adultary?
