That material of course being a non-Newtonian fluid of some kind. Cat dynamics are still poorly-understood by physics.

Life is poorly understood by physics. In fact, life is completely outside its purview.

Actor Alan Tudyk played Vanderveer "Van" Wayne on Powerless.
Actor Alan Tudyk played Wash on Firefly.

Even tho I have seen every episode of both shows, TIL that the two roles were played by the same actor.

Moral of the story: if you want your great TV series cancelled midway through the first season, hire actor Alan Tudyk.

It's even worse if you hire Summer Glau.

Are there any people on CFC today that have matching avatars? None come to mind.
I used to change my avatar at least once a week once upon a time.

Why? The Terminator series actually lasted two full seasons. What else has she been in?

I think she got the look spot on.

I don't know why you and Traitorfish thought my question was referring to people still using the same avatar as they were years ago.

I was referring to several members having avatars from the same source material. There was a time when @Dachs, @Crezth, and @Owen Glyndwr all had ATLA avatars.
Reindeer Thistle and Cheezy the Wiz still have identical avatars.

Warpus and Dutchfire had the same avatar during one Avatar Switcheroo event from years ago - or at least they were so close that it was very confusing at first glance.

Ah, but not cats from the same material!

I think.

They could be siblings. But probably not.
A real Siamese cat and a black domestic short hair (DSH) created via a computer art program? Not literal siblings, but given how odd some litters can be from stray or feral mothers (cat litters can have multiple fathers), I suppose that my Maddy could have had a Siamese sibling. It's not something I can ever know, since I adopted her from a family who adopted her from a farm.

BTW, the cat in my avatar looks very much like Maddy, if it were a real photo and not computer art. It's hard to believe that she's going to be 11 years old next month.

I used to have a Cat on a CAT as my avatar......

That's a classic from the Cheezburger site.

Something odd happened a short time ago. Suddenly I got a flood of emails congratulating me that one of my lols had made the Home Page. Since I haven't been active there in at least 3 years, I couldn't figure out what they were talking about.

Turns out that a lot of people were in the same situation. Dozens of old lolpics, being dug up and reposted on everyone's dashboard... it was nice to see these, because I'd forgotten about some of them. So I went back to the site and said Ohai to some old friends, all of whom are cat lovers. :)

Cat dynamics are understandable only by cats... most of the time. Back in 1987 one of my cats underestimated the energy it would take to haul her kitten from the couch in the living room on the ground floor to one of the bedrooms on the second floor. She gave up at the bottom of the stairs and asked my grandmother to get him the rest of the way (my grandmother opted not to bother). The reason for all this is because we'd given the other two kittens away and my cat wanted to hide her last kitten so she could keep him. She didn't know we had no intention of giving away her last baby (and to this day I regret letting the other two go, because it turned out that the people we gave them to didn't take very good care of them ).

A couple of days ago I realized that the same actor who played Joe Carey on Star Trek Voyager (he and B'Elanna were competing for the position of Chief Engineer; B'Elanna won and Carey was killed off late in the 7th season) was a Bridge officer in a 1st season episode of TNG ("Justice" - in which Wesley was sentenced to be executed for accidentally wrecking a flower bed).

Since the TNG character wasn't given a name, there's no reason not to say that Joe Carey served on the Enterprise years before he was almost promoted to Chief Engineer on Voyager.

She played River Tam on Firefly.

A teenage girl went to a psychiatrist for voices in her head.
She was diagnosed after much confusion as being able to think.
Not everyone talks to themselves out loud, but that little voice talking inside your head exists in everyone. That little voice is called inner speech, and you can hear it when you're thinking or silently reading. When inner speech is occurring, your larynx is actually making tiny muscular movements.

I like to make mine sound like Morgan Freeman sometimes.

That would make an awesome fanfiction crossover!
Yeah, I can see Darth Vader wearing a red plaid hunting cap and jacket and tiptoeing around the Death Star, holding a shotgun as he croons, "Wheah are you, you wascally webels? Come out, come out, wheahevah you are!"

At which point Han Solo pops out of a smuggler's hiding place, holding a carrot: "Ehhh.... What's up, Doc?"

Then Luke uses the Force to tie Vader's shotgun into a bow and it blows up in his face. Vader, of course, isn't harmed, but his hunting clothes are ruined.

As centrists look at the extremists on both sides they most likely see less benefit to "the people's rule" than anyone else, since so many people are dangerous. Extremists almost always convince themselves that since their way is "obviously best" that eventually the people will "come around," so they would tend to support democracy more.

Consider: what if the mouthpiece of the alt-right, Breitbarf is actually correct, and the alt-right populist Trump backers are really a giant silent majority just beginning to stretch their voting power and claim their rightful place as the dominant force in the governing of America. Does that make democracy attractive?

I mean, there are all kinds of problems with the right's supposed support of democracy. Sure you ask if they support democracy in so many words and they'll say yes, but any interrogation of their actual positions reveals strong opposition to democracy.

In any case...

I know; and this is why I don't like them. FTR I also consider this to be an indication that the "centrist" is actually right-wing since authoritarianism is right-wing.

You seem to have ducked the question.

If they are correct, and they really are the majority and can vote the government solidly onto their chosen path, would you favor democracy?

The basic truth is that whoever happens to be the actual minority, if they recognize that fact, will tend towards authoritarianism. Anyone who is firmly convinced that their way is the best way and a majority agrees, or at least will once they "get it" will tend towards democratic rule.

Probably, because what would be the alternative?
