So what the hell are pickles then? Is there such a thing as a non-pickled pickle?

By the way, my mom's pickled pickles are the best.

Many things are pickled, and so technically they are 'pickles'. But in the US, the common usage of the word 'pickle', with no other qualifier, means pickled cucumbers. Which can be pickled whole, sliced, or quartered.

You know what else is synonym? Byzantine and liar.
It is? When your great kings are called things like 'the Bulgar-Slayer' then you're obviously awesome.

Who do you think you are? Robert Patrick?

That would mean more if I recognised the reference.

*mutters about the youth of today* Terminator 2…

Also Byzantine and decadent. Byzantine and corrupted. Byzantine and labyrinthian. Byzantine and backward. Byzantine and crooked. Byzantine and incomprehensible. Byzantine and Paradox Forums posters.

Hey why all this Byzantine hatedom. :(

Byzantine and Paradox Forums posters.

But yes this is indeed an affront to society. In fact the PI forumites are an affront to society. They have tarnished the name of the Basileia tōn Rhōmaiōn forevermore. Woe! Woe is this! What woe! What woe!

I prefer the Byzantium-in-Sengoku DLC that will also include critical bug-fixes. But you must download the DLC.

Alternatively, march up in Athens with an oversized bronze cannon while making funny Ottoman accents.

TIL two things:
  1. that the burokracija can and does sporadically work
  2. that some people have an inexplicable hatred towards Greece

It's not done properly unless you can type it up in Greek. So, start learning Greek!

It's Basileus, not Basil!

Actually Basileus means 'King'. Basil is a name (Basileios).
While Basileios is obviously etymologically linked to Basileus, it is not the same term. You would not call a King a Basileios, nor a person called Basileios would have to be king. Unless he was gifted some varangians.
