Ace Ventura 2 is a movie too but yeah I know he was in that too.

Huh. I could have sworn that was a video game, which rather defanged my point. :hide:

Simon is of course the guy in the middle.

As if we wouldn't recognise Simon Callow.

Well it's apparently news to me!

TIL: Mace Windu didn't die in Revenge of the Sith...at least in Samuel L. Jackson's mind:

In a recent Twitter Q&A, the "Legend of Tarzan" star was asked whose idea it was to kill off the purple-sword swinging Jedi master in "Revenge of the Sith."

Jackson said, of course, it was George Lucas' idea.

"I was trying to figure out, 'Really? Can't you just, like, injure me, whatever?'" said Jackson. "But in my mind, I'm not dead! Jedi can fall incredibly high distances and not die."

Entertainment Weekly also asked Jackson about Windu's fate and whether he could just be laying low, like Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tatooine, to which Jackson said that's exactly what Windu is doing. Asked if Windu might show up in one of the new movies, Jackson said "That would be fine by me."

As I recall, he doesn't die in the Expanded Universe either.

He was in his forties or fifties in III, which would make him at least 98 or so by the time of VII if he survived.

But he was one of my favorite characters and his death wasn't confirmed on-screen. So I prefer to imagine he became a cybernetically enhanced leader of the Coruscant underworld, complaining about how he's sick and tired of these [REDACTED] Sith in this [REDACTED] galaxy.

Yeah, the character would be too old to bring into the new trilogy, but they could put him in one of the side movies they are planning, especially since some of them might be set in the timeline of the original trilogy or immediately after the prequel trilogy.

Mace Windu would be a very interesting character to focus on (Vaapad, borderline darkside), they need to get an actor other than Samuel L to play him though.

Why? I thought he did a great job as Windu. Unless you are thinking of doing a backstory movie about him, in which case a different actor would make sense for portraying a younger Windu.

EDIT: Also, did anyone else get the impression that Windu was the real power behind the Jedi Council in the prequels. I mean, Yoda was obviously the visible leader of the Jedi, but it seemed as if Windu was the one making all the real decisions especially during the Clone Wars. Of course, this might be because Windu had more of a military mind than the other council members.

TIL about various clan wars and blood feuds. Some in New York City, or with the Hatfields and McCoys, killed dozens.

Then I learned about the Punti-Hakka Wars.

 ...Jesus...everything really is bigger in China...

Which is one of the reasons why China still views most of the world as being inferior. Everything is at least an order of magnitude bigger in China than outside it.

TIL: There is nothing fiscally responsible about spending money on a demon-sheep costume.

You apparently think enjoyment has no value.

Just as well this isn't the Rants thread because ewe mutton complain about demon sheep!

Diabolical, I say. Simply diabolical!
