Summery:
went to war with Saladin, took 2 cities and raze 3. There is a settler on the way to the cleared territory to claim some land.

Notes for next player:
- use the settler to found a city
- you may want to change civic since we are out of war
- we should be getting the Taj next turn
- we should be getting free merchant in 3 turns, I suggest joining him in NY.
- I used the obsolete units as MP to send heavier forces to the front. I suggest disbanding them now.
- lower culture rate!

Nice work, but you should've kept at least one more city...
The problem with the AI is that he will settler-spam and build tons of new cities=\

Turn 235 (1625 AD)
I had been waiting around here for a while, when finaly

The AI came up short enough for me to step in

Knight defeats (6.30/10): Barbarian Longbowman
Captured Ligurian (Barbarian)
Razed Ligurian
Ligurian lost

I really cannot believe I didnt switch to OR... Damn that could have really made a big difference during my peacefull GA.... But I didnt want to waste a turn in anarchy during the GA either....

I planted the new city and used the GA to research MT.

I was a bit overdoing it with planning builds, appearently they dont go quite as fast as I wanted/hoped them to.... So there are a few (read: a lot) of planned buildings in cities. Hope you dont mind. They offcourse can be changed....

Goals next:
Finish off vicky? After upgrading some Knights to Cavs and maybe build one or two cavs more?

The Save

Before I play my turns, I would like to discuss victory conditions. I am leaning toward domination, but that would mean we need to focus on finishng Saladin before he gets rifles. The other option is space race, I believe.

What does everyone think?

Space would be the easiest, conquest would be the most enjoyable.
I vote for conquest.

Conquest means that we should stop researching at some point and just buy/upgrade troops and capture good cities and raze the rest.
I think that we are far ahead of most AIs to do that easily.

I suggest taking out england in any victory condition in the next turn set, after that we should take on the big dogs: Saladin, Mansa and Monti and than mope all the rest

Domination would have my vote... We have to keep a slight balance on Economy and military. Its a bit harder than Conquest, just as doable and more fullfilling I think.

We have versailles allready in London, so we have low costs for previous england, if we can get the FP somewhere middle of the map would be nice.

Sorry, I still haven't installed the auto-logger. Here is a quick rundown of the set:

Hastings turned out to be a tough nut to crack. Had to bombard it down to zero to keep from losing too many units. Nottingham will be similarly difficult, as it is built on a hill with lots of City 2 longbows. Newcastle was easily taken. Recommend taking Oxford and Coventry next, saving Nottingham for last. We will need more cats.

Finished Gunpowder, then Chemistry. Started on Constitution with the idea that Representation would help us, but I'm not sure that Steel wouldn't be better at this point, as cannons will go a long way toward domination/conquest. Also had in mind getting SoL.

There is a Great Scientist (finally!) in Washington, not sure where we want our science city to be so I left him. We should decide soon and get the Academy/Oxford built there. Canterbury isn't a bad candidate, as it has some forests left to chop for Oxford. Atlanta's cottages are a bit more developed however.

I did not change any civics, although we might want to discuss the possibilities there. Main problem wit switching to Rep. right now will probably be happiness, but that can be managed.

There is a settler south of Newcastly (shown in screenie) and one in London, just in case we want to raze/settle instead of install new governor. That's about it, here are screens and save:

Taking Hastings has really taken the presure of londen :) Taking hasting as alse freed up the farmed grass lands for the other previous English town.... Good good good.

Nice going rddc...

Lets keep focussed, Domination I think still is the goal. So get some military techs....
- Burglar => Skipped, but on deck.
- Mailman
- namliaM
- rddc05 => Done his thing to Vicky
- SkunkDoctor => Out of action till Comp is fixed
- SpriteSoda => Up

Well here we go:

0: Moving stuff and press Enter.
1: Culture at 10%. We are at war and almost no city creates army... that im going to remedy.
2: Mansa wants us to cancel deals with Julious... hahahaha. DC Bank->Carvalry.
3: Boston Carvalry->Carvalry. Barsa rax->cat. New york granade->carvalry.
4: Seatle Granade->Carvalry.
5: Constitiution->Steel, didnt revolt.
6: Augustine declares that we are the largest culture producers:
316gf.jpg

7: Cantenbury Univer.->rax.
8: Boston Carvalry->Carvalry. Conquered Convetry.
9: DC Carvalry->Courthouse. Seattle Carvalry->Carvalry.
10: Conquered Nothingham with a few losses.

In conclusion Viccy got only 1 last city which is going down next turn.
We have a great scientist at DC.

The Save:

Wow thats fast... a bit sparce on the log... but fast... and focussed, build us some cavs... and nearly eliminated the English.

- Burglar => Up allready, to finish Vicky
- Mailman => On Deck
- namliaM
- rddc05
- SkunkDoctor => Out of action till Comp is fixed
- SpriteSoda => Went to work on Vicky

Sound like we need some military and than take on Saladin again, this time finishing him off and take most of his cities

I dont know. we are not using Orginized religion, so i would advise to convert to Taoisim, so we will be friends with Julius and Saladin, and take out Monty, who is furious and may attack anytime.

Nice going Sprite.

Couple of items for the next player:

We can trade pigs or wine to Mansa for Silver. This is a good deal, as we are running into happiness problems at the moment and silver is +2 happy with our forges.

We need to decide on a science city, as our GS is going to waste. I think we should build an academy wherever Oxford U. will go, and we need one more University to build Oxford U. Let's decide before the next turnset which city it will be.

We have a lot of veteran maces that can be upgraded to Grenadiers for only 110 gold. Especially the City Raider maces, as this is an upgrade that Grenadiers don't normally get.

So, Vicky just about gone...who is next? I vote for Sal.

Since Burglar is nowhere to be seen at to moment and I have time to play now, I got it.
If Burglar shows up, he can be after me.

Just to pass the time, i'll tell you briefly about a game that i played with my friend. we are a team, Russia and China, and we knew all game that the victory must be by diplomatic. We conquered Cyrus at the classical times, and then at the Cossacks time we sent a huge army to the other continent and conquered Viccy before she managed to create annoying Red Coats. then we were sure we'll win, but our close friend Gandi betrayed and voted for Roosvelt. Because of that we decided to conquer Saladin and get to nukes and nuke all of them till we will be the Many;]. But at the 4th vote, after I gave all of my resources to Gandi, he voted for us, and we won exactly on the requirement lol.
wonnnn7la.jpg

Prince level game.
I never won by the exact requierment. one less vote and we would have destroyed the world=P

I could not play very long last night, so a brief summery of the first turns:
Capture the last English city on the given turn and start moving our forces west to tackle either Saladin or Monti.
Switch civics to grant extra 2xp and set cities to produce more military

Before I continue to play tonight a quick question, who shall I attack.
Saladin is bigger, more advanced and has almost the same power as us, while Monti is the opposite and will be easy to take down.

Please cast your vote.
