Today I learned that Newton invented Calculus while stuck at home in the country isolated from the plague.
Imagine just how bored you'd have to be to invent calculus.
Think of what might come from our isolation. ;)

yes :)
A mind can be a hungry monster when deprived of inputs in isolation.
I took already as schoolkid some notebooks and pencils with me on summer holidays. Just to do some math or designing stuff to keep that monster quiet.

But don't forget Leibniz!

TIL that thunderstorms and lightnings can produce bursts of X-rays and gamma rays energetic enough to produce photo-nuclear reactions within the atmosphere.
The generation of Carbon-14 during these bursts could have (probably minor) consequences for dates estimated using that isotope.

It's more a way of how you can also look at things
TIL
that whereas Boris Johnson is leading the UK as an empire with 4 countries... Macron has an empire with only one country

With Macron simply stating the Covid exit strategy starts May 11... and the PM of France getting the nasty job of defending that with all kinds of details... getting the direct flak...
Macron is busy with the leaders of the world, telling everyone what to do and how to change for a better world

TIL Leibnitz and Newton arrived at calculus independent from each other (I thought you were wrong rah, so I went to check) and that Newton originally accused Leibnitz of plagiarism.

TIalsoL Newton looked like a Rolling Stone.

From my own observations: Lots and lots of fanfic updates.

I'M WORKING ON IT, OKAY????

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labour_Day
TIL that labour day is celebrated in nearly all countries in the world, with a few exceptions. One being the country I lived for the last years.
So I was working when nearly everyone else was celebrating .

Hm. I see a couple of spelling variations from those generally used in my circle of Cheezfriends.

"Ohai" = "Hi"
"Kthxbai" is the correct spelling, or at least the updated spelling we used.

BTW, if anyone wants to read the bible, it's been translated into lolcat. It's kind of a mashup of lolcat and l33t, but it's readable.

Likely headache-inducing though.
