Tom's Unit Factory

Copying posts is no problem. The new version can be edited separately from the original. So a new thread can be constructed & people can edit the copies of their own posts without changing the sense of the original.

Before I make a thread that incorporates only the general parts of people's posts - removing specifics but not changing any wording - I would like explicit permission from each individual. This looks like (at minimum): tom2050, Vuldacon, King Arthur, Civinator, Deth McBones & Wolfhart.

Ok by me. :)

It´s funny that all Englishspeaking civers around here use the word ok (meaning the initials of Otto Kaiser, a merchant who wrote the first letters of his name under a bill when he agreed to it.

Nah, it's derived from Scots "och aye" ;)

There's also the theory that Andrew Jackson, after proofing texts, signed off with "Oll Korrect". suggested etymologies abound, but none is conclusively accepted.

Now back to the thread topic. ;)

There's a similar idea I'm using for defensive immobile units that the AI uses (I think, still testing). It can be used for things like Machine Gun Nests/Bunkers, Artillery Batteries, for fantasy things like fire walls, land mines, quicksand, etc. Is a great way for AI and human to place the objects which then are permanant on the terrain (unless they are destroyed). Simple idea, but takes a bit of planning in a mod so it works the best. I'll wait for Blue Monkey to create the thread and post it there.

Editor Settings for Immobile Units
This will cover all areas for Immobile Units...including the AI.
I believe that people will interject how they use Immobile Units and how the AI handles them so the title should not be limited to the AI.

Thark Top Sergeant #2 has been listed in post 1003.

Wow, Tom, all this time you were still working on Tharks! Thank you. That Top Sergeant is a wildly complicated figure, what with four arms wielding four different weapons. You've done a great job with it, I must say! I assume (hope?) that the officers will be easier, as they wield only (mostly?) radium guns and rifles and swords, if I remember correctly. You might give them a bit more bling to signify their status - it doesn't have to be ostentatious, just a little gold here and there. For a change-up, you might want to make a Thark Thoat Rider/Officer, as that will give you the eventual dimensions of a Thoat as well. :goodjob:
