TOS Version 3 test PBEM

The only thing that comes to mind is using Auto Move in PBEMs but as I doubt you had your entire Navy and unfortified Army on Auto Move at the same time this would hardly be the problem, unless of course the computer thinks all your forces were on Auto Move ......

How did the replay go ?

If it didn't help, how about this ... you have to assume this will only affect one turn so what you could do is pass the turn along and we can all only alter production i.e. NO MOVEMENT for the current turn until the turn gets back to you. This means you won't be penalised for being the only one who can't move (assuming that any of us can move this turn anyway) and if it rectifies things then great.

The replay worked fine (whem!!).

A very nice big fat juicy convoy of US troops sitting in the middle of the Pacific are now swimming in the middle of the Pacific. 4 subs, 1 DD and 1 transport are sunk. My poor little DD is dead meat on Dazz_G's turn, but I'll make that trade anytime.

I know where you are now Dazz_G, but do you know where I am? (evil smile).

I lost 2 dive bombers bombarding what's left of Hawaii.

China lost two more cities, all to elite attacking units, but no MGL's this turn. ;)

I can feel the tide beginning to turn against me, I'm running out of time to accomplish what I have to......

Played and sent.

DD Urakaze East of Hilo sunk.
DD Yuzuki NorthEast of Hilo sunk.

I-16 SouthWest of Hilo sunk.
I-18 Southwest of Pearl sunk.
I-5 SouthWest of Hilo sunk.

Small payback but better than nothing.

Not yet anyway, but China is finished. One more city and you're all done. Unfortunately it might take me a couple more turns to get to you.

Dazz_G, you did much better than I expected in your counter attack, maybe later you'll let me know what was in that transport I sunk.

At least its getting to the point where the allies can give as good as they are getting......

Fortunately the radios on my scout planes work.....

We discovered the US naval group cruising due east of Hilo. We hit it with everything we could. 1 DD and the carrier Hornet sunk (lost with all hands) due to a lucky strike by my last Elite Torpedo Bomber. The entire task force, other than the 2 transports sitting in it were damaged. The carrier Enterprise is listing badly but her flight decks remained in action. US fighters and the Enterprise AA guns accounted for 2 Japanese Torpedo Bomber and 1 Dive Bomber squardrons being shot down.

The airfields of Hilo were destroyed. 1 bomber, 2 torpedo bombers and a fighter were destroyed on the ground. No Japanese units took damage.

A large infantry force has begun an advance against Bhuket.

A large number of Japanese soldiers were photographed making obscene gestures at Chinese soldiers dug into the mountains outside Wuwei. Japanese Military Command indicated that they were merely practising an elaborate Buddist ritual of cleaning before the coming conflict.

Boy did I get off lucky. Neither U.S. nor Commonwealth hit me anywhere. I thought for sure I was going to get a counterstrike on my carriers and infantry stack moving towards Singapore. There are probably quite a few US subs out there dying for a shot at my carriers and I'm running out of screening DDs....

Dazz_G, please keep a note about what you lost on the Hornet. Two of your fighters took damage killing my attacking air units. I'm curious if they were based on the Enterprise or Hornet. I don't want to know now (not that you'd give me that much info anyway).

Hmm, guess I get one more free initiative turn before things get very ugly.

Turn to Dazz_G.

Wrong Eric_A. Just because they weren't sitting right next to Wuwei, doesn't mean they aren't in moving distance. (I intentionally left them in Hanoi so you couldn't spot them with air units).

Here's how the turn went down. First my workers build a road, then rail on the bombarded tile near Bhuket. Then my artillery damaged the unit defending Bhuket.

Army #1 rumbles into the hill (2mps) and attacks / destroys Bhuket defender. (My armies are made up of 3 Japanese infantry units giving them 3mps). City falls. That opens up a rail line to next Commonwealth unit. More artillery rumbles up, damages unit. First infantry attack fails (my only casualty). Second infantry attack succeeds. More artillery rumbles up. Take out Commonwealth infantry on rubber tile with an infantry. More artillery rumbles up. Attack Kuala Lumpur with Army #2. City falls (destroying Commonwealth fighter on the ground). More artillery rumbles along the rail line. Bombard veteran infantry and conscript infantry outside Singapore. Army #3 takes out veteran Anzac, elite Jap infantry takes out conscript Anzac.

Move remaining force onto hill tile next to Singapore. Bombarded Singapore to see if any Commonwealth air units present (sadly no). Given that Singapore is defended only with conscript Anzac units, it will fall next turn.

Lost a bomber on a fishing expedition to damage a US destroyer in the Pacific. Shot down by air cover (which of course told me what I needed to know)......

:-( Man, I am getting real bad in PBEMs.

Don't know if it is because this one took so long to be really "in" but I completely forgot to check if there was anything near Tahiland/Malaysia....

You also forgot what I told you about ripping up the roads so he couldn't
advance quickly!

Since Hanoi is nowhere near Wuwei, my original statement was correct.
