Tribute to Heroes Telethon

So uh, was it just me, or did anyone else think it strange that these Hollywood Actors/Actresses/Singers/Entertainers were tellin us to "Do your part" and "Please Give"??? I mean, yah it was good and I hope plenty of cash was raised, but they should have had a 1million dollar cover charge to be a part of the telethon. I heard Jim Carrey and Rosie? Odonnell gave a million each already? $1,000,000 woulda been MY idea and a dayam good one!

My thoughts entirely. They have enough cash themselves for it, so a little money back from the entertainment industry to put their own wallets where their mouths are would help a great deal.

I have heard of others besides Carrey and O'Donnel who have contributed, plus the time they all gave--free of charge--to staff phones and do their part in the telethon. I'm sure for some of them the exposure and good PR were part of the motivation for being involved, but I honestly think that at least most if not all of them were primarily motivated by a genuine desire to do something for the victims of the attack. I found it a very moving event, myself

It was alright, a little too religious for my tastes, BUT, I was thinkin, most if not all MOST LIKELY did put in some money, not just time... I heard Julia Roberts donated 2 million...

That's the thing with charity, even when you give to it, people question your motives. Microsoft gave 10 million, and yet there are supposid money hogs. If you give your only shirt to a poor man, he'll want your pants too.

Don't be worried about the celebrities who put on the telethon, if their 'persona' will bring in 150 million for the victims, that is great. Seriously tho, who wants to watch another frickin Jerry Lewis telethon. THOSE SUCK...i remember having only 3 channels when I was young, and missing cartoons to see his as* on tv... (yada yada children who can't walk...I realize this, i saw enough children who had a disability on Jerry Lewis...i know, its horrible that children have that...but why disable the whole viewing public's eyes with his poor quality whining?????)
