What is the matter with you guys? Someone put up p h for the night ;)

Smart fellow with lots of military knowledge  , are good to have around.

Buying train tickets: order it three days in an advance from The Train Line for MASSIVE discounts. If you buy on the day, you might be handing over a week's wages.

He could do go clubbing and stay there til some girl invites him home with her.

Girl: What are you doing here?
Civfanatic: I'm here for a Civ Meeting and I don't have a place to stay...
Girl: O_o

I'd be in. In for a penny, in for a pound.

MAybe we could crash at Mise's place, as London would be most convenient

Only if you bring your hot 18 year old sisters :groucho:

(oh and I think it best if you just left your camera at home noncon :p)

Is there a bank holiday coming up? Ihink it would be best to hold this on the Sunday/Monday.

As for hot sister, Mise, will this do?

No...

I have to drive for five hours + to get anywhere of substance in Britain.

Peanuts.

I lived a 14 hours drive away from my fianceé up to 4 months ago.

No more bank holidays this year. Train prices to London are around £55 from up here, and yes that is for 3-5 days from now through trainline. Coach is slightly cheaper but takes a damn sight longer.

Between saving for hols and christmas the translation of this is that I'd go to Lonon if:

1) Someone going past Liverpool could pick me up on the way
2) Someone could put me up down there or the above was coming back that day
3) Someone going past Liverpool could drop me off on the way back.

So methinks it's a no for me :D

But hell, make it in the North West and I'm sure I'd manage... Liverpool's a fun place for a night out :mischief:

What do you define as going past Liverpool?

It is away from everywhere!

If you could get your ass to the M6, then maybe I could pick you up if I decided that a civfanatic meet in London is a good idea.

Going through it ;) Seriously speaking because I use public transport only it's a pain in the arse getting anywhere, but places like the centre of Manchester, Chester and Liverpool are easy enough for me to get to. Outside of those areas it's hard to arrange visits to.

It is away from everywhere!

Not true! It's right by the Irish Sea and the River Mersey :D

Anyway, most Brit CFCers live in the south of England.

Hmm, guess being up in Newcastle rules me out then
